GoBlue80 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I was curious what would be the best weight jig head for the clone fry? I plan on picking some up from my Bass Pro Shops. Quote
Packard Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 They are great on a drop shot rig. I would assume that they would work well on a shakey head. Other than that I couldn't tell you. Quote
senko_77 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 If your planning on throwing it on some sort of leadhead jig, then I would suggest a darter head style. Thread on the Clone Fry, cast it out, count it down to where the fish are, and try varied retrieves. I would either swim it straight back or give it slow, continuous lift and drops, so it is constantly moving up, then down, then back up. As far as weights for the leadhead...I would go with an 1/8oz and a 1/4oz. Try the 1/8oz in less than 10FOW and the 1/4 in greater than 10FOW. When your at Bass Pro, make sure you look for a darter head that has a quality hook. I make sure all of mine are Gamakatsu. You will dig that darter head setup. It is killer on suspended fish, and is also great if the body of water your on has heavier fishing pressure. The Clone Fry will work great on it, but don't hesitate to throw a worm or craw on that jighead and work it the same way. Good luck!! Quote
