Super User Jig Man Posted February 26, 2012 Super User Posted February 26, 2012 I have fished there in the summer and fall for several years but always took my spring vacation at Table Rock or Stockton. I have booked a site for 2 weeks at the end of April and am in the process of making baits to take along. I am planning mostly plastics and jigs with a few spinnerbaits thrown in for good measure. Now my question: for those of you who fish it early what jig and plastic colors have been the most productive for you? Quote
KC Bass Fanatic Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I have had good success with green, green/brown, green/black up through the spawn. The jerkbait bite is always really strong all Spring as well. Good luck. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 28, 2012 Author Super User Posted February 28, 2012 Thanks. I have a bunch of those colors made up. I'm wondering about bubblegum. I've never tried it at Pom but it has been my number one prespawn color for the last 3 or 4 years. I may be too chicken to throw $15 jerks with all those musky. They do a number on my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits in the summer and fall. Quote
Derek Chance Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Remember that Pomme is traditionally high in the spring. I have seen it as high as 9 ft above normal pool (last year I think or the year before) They predominant bite when this happens is the flooded buck brush. Be prepared to fish flooded brush if you are going to Pomme in the spring. Just keep and eye on lake levels etc. when the time comes. Many ways to fish it. I like Jerks, warts, spinnerbaits, etc. and flipping. I keep it simple though using natural colors like green pumpkin, watermelons hues etc. Heck throw the bubblegum....I would. Quote
