JT Bagwell Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Working out will most definately help you on the water. I train several days per week. I do cardio, weight lifting (high reps/light weight), weight lifting (low reps/heavy weight), stretching and Mixed Martial Arts. The more physical training you do, the easier fishing all day long will be. Eating healthy is also very important. I try to limit the amount of unhealthy food I eat. I take 1-3 Max Muscle Whey Protein shakes per day. Don't wait until it is too late. Try to get healthy now. Unfortunately working out won't make the fish bite. Quote
Fish Chris Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Thanks guys But to be totally honest, this little psychological issue I have {OCD} makes something like this so easy, it's almost like cheating Same with catching a bunch of big fish. For me, the hardest part is, trying to pay just a little bit of attention to anything "other than" the one subject I have stuck in the front of my head ! Why couldn't I have gotten stuck on becoming a billionaire, surrounded with beautiful babes ? Too bad I can't pick and choose, huh ? Oh well Peace, Fish Quote
Scorcher214 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Nice Chris! I was 5'9 270 back in august and started eating right and working out a lot. and right now Im at 234. If I wasn't working out I probably would be less but did put on a good bit of muscle. I slacked off in december and early january though due to christmas and new years parties. Im back on track though! Fishing get's me a lot of exercise since Im mainly a bank and kayak fisher. I go kayaking, Im out for 5-6 hours. Really feel it in your arms afterwards haha. Quote
shimmy Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Ah Fish Chris, that is such an awesome achievement. Just flat out awesome. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted March 2, 2012 Super User Posted March 2, 2012 Your right to exercise because the older i get the weaker i'm becomming. I need to workout my body soon. I'm disabled so my fishing time is limited. Sometimes i can fish for 15 to 30 minutes before the pain starts and sometimes i last for an hour or two. I just enjoy being out there casting. But the worst thing to me is the higher ratio reels. By the end of my fishing trip my arms are wornout from cranking the faster reels. I have the spinning reels with 10 ball bearings which are tight at first. I use these on my worm rods first to break them in before going to the spinnerbait rods. I'm starting to use the 3 bearing reels more do to the arthritis too. Quote
