Carry a jug, like a Clorex container. Pee in the container, empty and rinse.

My father just uses the minnow bucket. Think it adds a little zest to the bait.

I like chicken legs. They are reasonably good for you and have a built in handle. I buy large quantities in the spring, wrap them individually and freeze. I usually cook them on the grill the night before my trip, wrap them with cling wrap and put in my small cooler along with lots of water and some cheese. If I'm going to be fishing several days in a row I often cook more than a days supply and put them wrapped in the frig.

I'm with this guy. Fill a baggie with chicken, eat it with one hand, feed the bones to the catfish. When I have the time, this is my routine.

I don't know that this threat has helped all that much but it has gotten me to thinking. I recently got diagnosed as a diabetic, just a couple of weeks ago.(I don't have to do insulin shots, just eat pills and watch diet for now) Some of the healthy things (like carry a lot of water and stay hydrated) I already do. I'll just have to find some food I like that tolerate travel and cooler storage well. Previously I just got a subway sandwich (or 2) and kept them in a water tight lunch box.

Now, I can't eat as much and I'm supposed to spread the meals out throughout the day. I'm supposed to go back to the hospital dietitian at the end of March and I'll get some ideas from them.

any small sized stack can be put in a nalgene style bottle and "drank" hands free, awesome for any fishingthat yuck up your hands like cats or saltwater.

put hotdogs on to boil. put hot water in a thermos to warm it whille this happens. when they are done put them in the thermos then pour in all the boiling hotdog water it can hold. hours later breaks out the buns and saved fastfood mustard/ketchup packet and enjoy.

i also carry cheese single, crackers and canned ham for a group. min ham n cheese sandwiches.

@ Fishes

It would appear you're a type 2 diabetic, so am I. Medication and diet generally make type 2 manageable. Personally I would see a diabetic specialist, most have a nutritionist on staff. The right diet is essential, a proper balance of carbs, protein, and fats, more important than just reducing your carb intake.

Within a reasonable amount of time my cholesterol went from 257 to125, my BP now averages 120/70, my a1c went from 14% to 6.I%, and my energy level and strength are restored...........I owe it all to my wife.

This is a serious disease, don't take it lightly and don't get lax when you see improvement

My input,

Camel back which holds about a gallon of water on your back all you have to do is suck on the tube.

Nuts and jerky hold lots of protein....and potassium which is the main ingredients for your body while you are burning calories by standing and or while the sun hits you. Soda is a no-no because if sodium and carbonation will dehydrate you fast.
