Here's an example All NE fishing >>> LGmouth - May - windy - chartreuse spinnerbait -slow roll LGmouth - July - calm -Yamamotto green pump. twin tail 3/0 hook on structure SM mouth - august - calm - 5" pumpkin Senko - wacky rig SM mouth - June - calm - drop shot - 4" Zoom black finesse small hook Be nice to see how everyone thinks...maybe get some new ideas! (Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina). Color depends on water clarity so I'm going to leave that out. Weather can change in a moment so I'm going to leave that out to. This is what I will have tied onto my rods before I hit the water. January, Febuary - Jig, medium diving crankbait, jerkbait, dropshot, shakyhead March - (Pre-Spawn) Jig, T-Rig 5" lizzard, T-Rig brushhog, shallow crankbait. April - (Spawn) Jig, T-Rig 6" lizzard, Hollow body frog, spinnerbait, shallow crankbait May - (Post-Spawn) Jig, buzzbait, Super Spook Jr, fluke, shakyhead June - Jig, Super Spook Jr, buzzbait, C-Rig worm, shallow crankbait, dropshot July, August, September- Jig, medium crankbait, deep crankbait, C-Rig worm, buzzbait October, November - Jig, Medium and Shallow Crankbait, Lipless crankabait, fluke December - Jig, Shallow Crankbait, T-Rig worm, jerkbait, shakyhead Quote

Super User slonezp Posted February 22, 2012 Super User Posted February 22, 2012 Here in Northern IL on my home lake Dec-Feb hard water March-Nov jigs(PB&J), senkos(BLK&BLU) flukes(BLK&Blu) On cooling lakes Spinnerbaits and cranks all season(Shad patterns) On Lake Michigan Anything goes for smallies. When they're on they're on. I've caught my largest on chartruse Mepps spinners with black bucktail. Goby patterns and white on white are also good. Quote

"Uncatchable" fish are being caught. In a few weeks the northern water will light up. This is the "Next Big Thing". Otherwise, I'm with Jeff...GMAN Jig/ Rage Tail Craw year around. In the spring lipless and squarebill crankbaits are killer, but I fish more jerkbaits just because I like them! In the summer, especially last year, Rage Tail Thumper and Anaconda are the tickets. I have become a stick-in-the-mud when it comes to topwater, it seems I only fish the Megabass PopMax, MegaStrike Cavitron or Rage Tail Shad Now for the not so secret, "TOP SECRET" stuff: Two years ago on the BassResource RoadTrip, Big O introduced the guys to the Baby Craw. Most of you probably remember the story, but for those that don't, Big O and our Army Sargents caught 144 smallmouth during the worst part of the storm. The rest of us "got a clue". In the spring and early summer, the Baby Craw is killer! Rig it naked on a 2/0 Offset Worm Hook, 1/8 oz bullet weight, unpegged. Number two & three would be the Craw and Lobster fished naked on a weighted Offset Worm Hook. If you prefer, T-rigged works, too. Quote

Lighter is better for me, but all our fish were caught on the Johnson Silver Minnow. From what I have read, everyone is reporting 95% of their hook-ups are on the middle arm which the Donkey Thrasher doesn't have. Quote

Zoom and Yamamotto I would say where the two biggest Brands as far as sales. Jigs, Texas & Carolina rigs soft plastics were the most popular by far But since we moved to the Northeast you can pretty much forget anything that we used in VA. Seems here in NH everyone is hell bent on Senkos wacky rig...very different way of fishing, can't remember last time I saw someone using a jig! Quote
