Went to Pickwick today and caught my PB smallmouth of 6 pounds. Total of our best five smallmouths today was 19 pounds. Thanks RW for sharing your knowledge and advice.

Thanks everyone. I was drifting below the dam using 4 lb test YoZuri line fishing live minnows. You really can't rush a fish in on that light line and is it constantly pulling your drag. Thanks to RW for going with me a few times and showing me the correct technique for Tennesse River smallmouth. This is my first winter fishing for them, but it won't be my last.

Nice fish, I went to buy minnows, But the guy in front of me has cleaned them out of the bigger size minnows. so I got some smaller ones and went to the lake.

Wow!! what an awesome smallmouth you have there! I've caught 19 lbs 5 fish bag limits of smallmouth before but there wasn't any 6 pounders in that bag LOL. Oh one of these days, one of these days may the fishing gods shine down on me and bless me with a 6 pound smallmouth!

Way to go man!

It was a fun day of fishing. I don't know if I will ever catch one bigger but I do know there are some bigger ones roaming around in the Tennessee river. I will keep tryin though. I almost jumped out of the boat when we got this one in the net. It was really exciting when you first see a fish this size come to the surface.
