crankbait2009 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I just noticed NEW for 2012, Strike King introduced a Rage Tail GRUB that is on the market. Has anyone used these yet? How do they compare to the rest? Any reviews? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 21, 2012 Super User Posted February 21, 2012 Introduced a few months ago. I think you will find them superior to any other grub you have ever fished. Quote
crankbait2009 Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Would that be because you LOVE Rage Tail products or would that be an honest assessment? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 21, 2012 Super User Posted February 21, 2012 Try them for yourself, it is not an expensive experiment. Quote
RyneB Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I prefer a Zoom Fat Albert grub over a rage grub as far as a swimjig trailer. But with a naked jig head i like the rage tail. The only negative is the lack of color choices compared to Zooms. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted February 22, 2012 Super User Posted February 22, 2012 I've had a lot of luck on the zoom fat albert grubs last year. Accounted for a lot of fish. I picked some rage tails myself this year and giving it a go. I'm pretty excited to try them out to be honest. I doubt they will replace my Fat albert grubs though. Quote
Skeet22 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hard to beat a fat albert. Some times less is more.. Quote
Phranchise1213 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Kalin's!!!!!!!!! Key is to fish em nice and slow, that is where it excels over other grubs. However I have yet to try the new rage tail grubs. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Too bad you missed Hook and Look. It was the featured bait. Great tail action. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted February 22, 2012 Super User Posted February 22, 2012 Kalin's!!!!!!!!! Key is to fish em nice and slow, that is where it excels over other grubs. However I have yet to try the new rage tail grubs. Agreed! 5" Kalins Grubs have been a go to bait for smallies for many years. I've fished them on an assortment of jigheads and t-rigs. They're also good baits for largemouth when they move off the deep weedlines in the summer. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these new grubs a while ago when the Big O tossed one at me and said; "Your a smallmouth guy, what do you think of this?". Once the natural cramp left my hand, I reluctantly gave it back to him knowing full well that I'd have another weapon to add to my grub/tube bag this spring. I can only imagine the action that tail is going to give off. Like a 8" smallmouth, the saying will most likely be that this grub thought it was six foot tall and made of dynamite! Now I only have to wait for the water to turn soft and warm up just a touch. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted February 22, 2012 Super User Posted February 22, 2012 The Rage Grub has been killer every way I've fished it. My current favorite, is on the drop shot. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 25, 2012 Super User Posted February 25, 2012 I've always done far and away the best with Yamamoto grubs, but I'd be willing to give the RT's a shot if they last a lot longer than the Yami's. They were nearly $6 at BPS today for half as many Yamamotos for $7 and change. Quote
