Being a racing fan...I was thinking of Danica making the move to NASCAR and what that may do to the sport and that organization.

What do you think would happen if KVD ever went exclusively to FLW??

He would dominate. Been there and done that.

Bass would actually likely IMPROVE, because it would open up the compitition more. And having a name as big as KVD in FLW would help them too..

I only see positives.

It will never happen, you will never see KVD put on a "snickers" jersey because he made the cut or ditch half of his sponsors because they don't sponsor the FLW in hole. KVD is a very loyal pro angler, for him to fish FLW would mean they would have to change they way sponsorships work. For instance, if company "A" sponsors the FLW, then an angler in the top 12 of the cut has to ditch his personal sponsors and put on a company "A" jersey, and that isn't going to happen. It is all about the sponsorships, and if you look at the level of competition there is a big difference. In the beginning B.A.S.S was bleeding anglers to the FLW because of the payouts but now that has changed you won't likely see many elites cross over to FLW but instead you are seeing more FLW anglers crossing over fishing the opens trying to qualify for the elite series.

I'm not asking if he would---I agree that he wouldn't. I'm curious to see peoples opinions on how the sport might change if he did. Would it change other fisherman's opinions of FLW etc.

I don't think FLW is a bad league at all and I'm sure some or most don't put the leagues on the same level but in my opinion both leagues feature elite anglers and my opinion is that FLW is as good as B.A.S.S as this current stage. I've only seen the anglers compete against each other on Ultimate Match fishing and usually the FLW anglers do better in the format from my viewing.

I don't think it would change the sport any.. it may persuade a few people to start watching the FLW more ( not that don't already have a following).

For me it always seems like something missing in the FLW events...no ....individuality???( if thats a word) ... Seems like BASS is more open to individual sponsors for there pros... alot of pros flip flop between the 2 but for me the BASS tour IS the elite...i compare them to golf like this :for me like the BASS is the PGA and the FLW is more like the European tour....Although i'm sure for others it would be the other way around.

Wouldn't change my opinions about FLW.

Guys from BASS go to FLW and do GREAT after doing just OK when with BASS.

Regardless I like following FLW better. What they do pertains to what I do.

Never say never, smalljaw67. KVD as well as every other angler fishing in the MLF are wearing identical tourney jerseys and driving identical boats that are plastered with the sponsors of the series. These include Jack Links, Geico, Busch Beer, Optima batteries, etc. Granted the anglers each invested in the MLF personally, when money gets thrown in the equation who knows what will happen. Who's to say that the FLW doesn't make KVD an offer he can't refuse?

When you have going on 6 mil in earnings, and sponsors that actually PAY and pay well, the offer he couldn't refuse would have to be through the roof.

Who's to say one or two of FLW's tiltle sponsors such as Chevy or Kellogs wouldn't put something together that rivals that number? If I recall correctly, Strike King is also now a sponsor of FLW, so he'd be allowed to promote them on stage also....These are just thoughts.

The money that is in pro fishing isn't as glitz and glamour as you would think.

MLF is also a pay per view event that is away from the tour and doesn't factor in points or standings in their respective tours, different as they aren't expected to endorse anything. If KVD is on top of the leader board is he going to ditch his Quantum Jersy for a wal mart jersey as he has to wear a sponsor for the FLW because he can't display his personal sponsor if they don't support the FLW? I doubt it no matter what money is involved because KVD can have any sponsor he chooses and use any equipment he want and he still stays loyal. No amount of money can make him do anything which is why I like him, now if the FLW let anglers display their own sponsors as well as the FLW tour sponsors, well that would be in the realm of possibility.

I do believe that FLW lets you wear your sponsors as well as FLW. Luke Clausen is sponsored by Megabass which isn't an FLW sponsor. I've seen Kistler on a couple shirts too. I think they are becoming more open to that.
