msolorio Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 ive been using vicious for awhile now and their pro elite fluoro is darn good. youll see a lot of people tell u to go with seaguar but honestly, vicious is everybit as good. the only thing i didnt like about vicious was the diameter of the heavier pound test (20-25) its a bit thick for my liking but everything else is awesome. ive used it for bass, catfish, striper, and it never gave me any issues. great abrasion resistance, really sensitive, great knot strength, and smooth and supple. same goes for their braid, awesome awesome stuff. I agree with most of this. It does have great knot strength and abrasion resistance. The part I don't agree with is the smooth and supple comment. It's so stiff when the coils come throughthe guides they cut a lot of distance off the cast. It's like trying to fish with a slinky. Spiderwire has better castability in my opinion. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 20, 2012 Super User Posted February 20, 2012 I use Spiderwire braid 65#. Casts smooth, and very strong. Never had a problem with abrasion or breaking on me. Quote

But a little line conditioner takes care of that also its pretty stiff compared to other brands in the same # test but that's not necessarily bad cause I personnaly like it for that reason Quote
BradH Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I bought a roll of the Vicious fluorocarbon in 15#. I've only been using it for leader material. I really like it. Good abrasion resistance and knot strength. I would not target big pike with it but I've landed plenty on it while fishing for other stuff. Quote
