Fishifishfisher Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Plastic baits. I estimate I'm up to about twenty pounds. Last year I stocked up on Senko style baits when I found a place that sold them at a disgustingly low price-I don't see myself ever needing to buy another one. I think I bought half the store(Sportsmanswharehouse) when it went out of business in my town. Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted September 19, 2009 Super User Posted September 19, 2009 I just threw my plastics bag on the bathroom scale:19lbs. :)I probably have another couple of lbs. of "active" stuff in my main bag. If I had everything I think I need, I would probably have> 50lbs total-maybe 100-who knows? : Another question is how much money is invested in plastics? To paraphrase the colonel in "A Few Good Men" I can't handle the truth?! ;D Quote
yamisoez Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Starter kit is right! I've got at least 50 lbs. I think I need a 12 step program.. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 19, 2009 Super User Posted September 19, 2009 Well, you made me curious. I have no idea how many total bags of plastics I have, But this category is definitely where I have spent the bulk of my tackle money. For the past year, I've been addicted to using Rage Tails, and so I figured I'd count the bags. Right now I have 117 unopened bags of Rage Tail baits alone, not to mention 2 Plano 3700 tackle boxes of Rage baits in my boat, and 2 more 3700's full of 'em in my Jeep. As for all the other stuff, probably another 200-250 bags of other stuff like Senkos, Power worms, Brush Hogs, Sweet Beavers, and countless craw trailers. Too much, really. Quote

Koop Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 CWB has enough plastics that if he puts them all in his boat water will breach it ;D Quote
rat-l-trapper Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Wow, this thread makes me feel like more of an amateur than I thought I was. I have 6 bags, plus some random grubs that were given to me. I will expand my collection more in the future I'm sure. I've been buying a lot of cranks lately since those have been the only thing working consistently. Quote
kikstand454 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 i have quite a bit. not all what i want though... ive been lucky enough(?) that both boaters wold and sportsmans warehouse went out of business in my town so i got about 500 dollars worth of stuff for around 200. id estimate probably 30lbs. bunch of stuff i dont care about though... some of it given to me. shane you want to get rid of some of those beavers.......ill take em... lol. ;D Quote

Super User Jeff H Posted September 20, 2009 Super User Posted September 20, 2009 I go 50lbs, easy. Likely a good bit more than that. Quote
Mattlures Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I would guess that myself or Aluring would have more I wouldnt even know how to weight it all. Of course I am cheating becuase most of it is not for personal use But I bet I still got over 100lbs of baits for my own use. I use a lot of soft plastic swimbaits in saltwater. Quote
Lobster Monster Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I probably have around 15lbs of soft plastics. Had a lot more but I've used a ton of my soft plastics lately. Quote

Mattlures Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I have been making saltwater swimbaits for about 20 years. That is how I learnd how to make baits. I just dont sell them. Maybe someday I will. The whole reason I got into bait making was I was going through way to many saltwater swimbait and it was getting too expencive. ! Quote
