catchnm Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 When do you use them? Time of year, conditions, water temps, terrain, what presentations, trailers? 3/4 and 1/2 oz. sizes. I plan on using Rage Craws, Lobsters, and Senkos as trailers if that helps. Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted February 18, 2012 Super User Posted February 18, 2012 I mostly use them in the warmer months when the forage is bigger X2 !!! I like that style jig in late summer and a Rage craw is a great trailer for it as you fish that jig in deeper water using a lift and drop or stroking method rather than dragging. Any time the fish are holding near cover or on structure in deeper water is a good time to use it, you can use a dragging type presentation but other jigs work better for that, the appeal of the Mop jig is it has a bigger profile but when you lift it and then let it fall, it hits the bottom and all those strands on the skirt move and flair and that is what draws attention to it.
