wondering if anyone has one and do they come with 7/0 Owner hooks ( like their website says ) or do they come with 5/0 Owner hooks ?? i looked at Owners website and they don't list 7/0 trebles . so maybe they listed them wrong on the Natesbaits website . anyhow , if you own/have owned this bait , how did you like it ??? thanks ... ;)

They come with 7/0's but my didn't have Owners. They look like bronze Mustad hooks for Muskie fishing. I changed them out to Owner 3/0 Saltwater type trebles.

Mine definitely weren't owners either, 7/0 for sure though.  Cool Bait with awesome action, but be sure that you have a rod to handle it.  My Okuma 7'11" Xh just bairly handled it,  I would NOT recommend anything less.  Most guys use Matts Rods or the Okuma 8'6" XH Tele. Muskie Rod.

SBN has a couple guys selling theirs for a pretty good price... just an FYI

Just so you know, hook companies make a lot of custom hooks for tackle manufactures that they don't sell to the public.

I think a7/0 is way to big. It may look proportinate but there is no need foh hooks that big unless the bait needs those hooks for balance. I would put 2/0 or 3/0 on it, if the bait still perfromed right.

just got this response from Nate himself---'' Just saw the post and was initially a bit puzzled. Well the answer to your question is that the current El Grandes come with 7/0 Mustads on them. I was initially putting 5/0 Owner St-66's (which I laquered with black finish) however I had a lot of suggestions to go with a thinner guage hook. So the website is INCORRECT. It must have gotten mixed up when it was updated with the new pictures. I will have it changed this evening.''

Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Thanks!

Nate
