Halle was originally a quarry. When it was acquired by Collierville they filled in the outer rim so the shoreline did not drop off 50' or so. Still, the middle of the lake is VERY deep. You will notice fish breaking out in the middle where the shad swim in a big circle around the center. Most of the bass that we catch are visiting shallow water on occasion, but do not live there,

Apparently Johnson has crappie. At least that's what I assume this is, I've never caught one before. Feisty little bugger though.

Yep. I fished there Sunday evening. Saw lots of big bass busting in the middle on pods of shad. Occasionally one would bust closer to shore, but they were still hard to catch. Tried a popper, fluke & baby 1 minus with no luck. Finally got one on a red eye shad. Only bout a pound. Immediately hooked up again in same spot & it got off. Only 2 bites I had.

So when you guys are referencing "Halle" are you talking about the lake behind Collierville Town Hall? Or Lake Page that's in the Halle Plantation neighborhood?

I've thought about trying it. Went by there one day, but a soccer tourney was going on & they were charging for parking. Plus, the entrance on Shelby Dr close to the pond was blocked off as an exit only for people leaving the tourney. So didn't end up fishing it. So I went to Halle Park instead.

Good to know it's got bass. Thanks for info.

It's on Forest Hill Irene close to 385. Huge soccer field complex.

Town hall/ Library. The round pond.

Gotcha. I have been there before, and I did struggle with it.

Have you(or anyone else reading) tried lake Page?

Bite's gone cold at Johnson front ponds, skunked toady and a dink earlier in the week. I think the rain we got probably helped the bass spread out, now that they can move between the ponds via the drainage pipes.

I guess it's time to check out other spots and play around with new presentations. And I was having so much fun with the ghost shad lipless crankbait.

I drove by Lake Page in Halle Plantation today after work. It looks nice, however there was a sign that said that it's "reserved for residents and guests of Halle Plantation". I didn't feel like getting run off, if anyone would even bother. So I went to Grove for the first time in quite a while. Bite's slow there too. Played around with a jig for a bit(I've never really used one), then tied on the lipless crankbait and pulled this small one in.

While still small, it's the biggest I've ever pulled out of there.

Caught a decent little guy (1 lb? 1 1/4 lb?) on a green senko at Mike Rose.  Went back again, missed two bites early and then not a single bite after.  Seems like a nice little pond.

I'll have to give it a try. Too cold right now tho. ?

Not the big fish I wanted, but I landed my first carp(ever) on a lipless crank at Grove.

Looks like it'll be sunny, high in the mid 30s. I'll probably be back out at the Grove tomorrow afternoon. If you see me,  come say "hi".

Hop to catch some decent ones it will be my first time fishing the grove.

It's a fairly deep pond from what I can tell(relatively speaking). But fish have been active, mostly ~30-40 yards out. I got discouraged there back in late Summer, early Fall and didn't go back until last week.

Didn't see you, but did you have any luck(if you went)?

I was out there from about 4:20-5:30. Line guides were freezing up, spinnerbait skirt froze, got a couple bites.

I'm not totally sure if bank fishing in 30 degree weather is advantageous for Grove. For me anyway. Fish were still busting, but way out toward the middle. All I can ever think when I'm out there is, "it sure would be nice to take a boat right out to the middle and anchor".

High is 50 degrees tomorrow, so I'll be back at it around 3. Maybe there, maybe Johnson.

Let's seee I wasn't sure if I was at the correct spot haha. I went behind Houston High school, and then went to look for the grove park and drove behind Houston middle. I had no bites at all, I was fishing a heavy finessse jig with a crawl trailer. If I'm freee tomorrow morning I might try it again before work. Can I get directions to the grove? I probably was at the right spot but wasn't to sure.

Grove is the pond on far left of this pic, right on Johnson, first left and left into the parking. (Coming from Collierville). You were probably in the right spot.

I noticed today on the north end that they've either created a retention pond or perhaps they've allowed access to a small off-shoot creek from the Wolf River. I'm going to go stomping around down there soon. Late summer there were crews out there working on an overflow pipe, I should've taken pics today...but cold...I'll try to get them tomorrow.

Oh ok. Yup I was at the wrong spot. I literally turned into Houston high school and spotted a little pond back there and fished there for about 30 mins. But I will have to try it again tomorrow probably 11ish. Thanks for the screen shot.
