Your tackle is looking good BBD!!  You can do some damage with that line-up for sure.

Glad you're catching a few.  I haven't been out in a couple of weeks, just been busy but hope to change that soon.  Y'all try to leave a few for me :)

With Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston posting here now, I think I'll change my handle to "Middle-Aged Roland Martin" :)

Anyone figured out Grove? It's been pretty non-productive for me this year.

MFBAB i cant do anything but leave u a few. I preach catch and release, hope to get a chance to fish with some of the pond hoppers. I think i master worms poppers and buzzbait just have to get better with crankbaits and swimbaits. But if u ever want to go just let me know. Middle age roland martin kmsl but i like it.

JdJ after i go Saturday morning i will let u know it will be my first time going there i hit neoshba a few weeks ago. Didnt have any luck. Didn't know it was a pond behind the woods till this lady popped up out of nowhere in front of me on the trail so i went in the first opening i seen and found water (blood hound for ponds. Just was to dark to be in the bushes to many snakes for me. Let me know if u do anything. I will be will young Jimmy Houston at the grove 5am we can have our on lil tournament

BBD, you mentioned that you let that fish in the picture go, but in the picture it is on a stringer. Seems counterintuitive to put a fish on a stringer if you are practicing catch and release. I'm still pretty new to bass fishing so just trying to understand your method.

Wiz if u read all the post u will see that i said i messed up by put him on a string but that was only cause i was standing on sum rocks and couldn't take a good pic without losing him. But i held him in the water till it got strength to swim away. Just make sure u dont make the same mistake i did by doing that i know and understand thats was not the best choice. With that being said on the way to basspro with young Jimmy Houston

Had a little time to do some exploratory fishing today on the eastern section of the green line today. There is a consistently flooded area next to the penitentiary that I fished. Couple little bites, nothing caught. I did see a good size gar cruising along. I moved further done and found a bike trail that led me to the wolf. I fished a deep diving crank bait under the pedestrian bridge with no luck. I think next time some bigger poles with cut bait might be a better approach.

Anyone ever fished here? How bout the prison ponds?

Went to daycare pond today and caught a bass as big as my crankbait and then two cast later caught a 1.1 lb'er. I thought I was going to wear them out with the rapala crawdad but didn't get anymore bites. The pond looks good, from google maps it looked depressing.

@grizz88 the prison will kick you out of those ponds. Tried last summer. There is a pond north of the greenline. In the winter you can see it from the 240 interchange. It has good fishing but hard to get to. You can access it from the wolf river trails or take a truck in from Shelby drive and summer.

Just a quick picture from Grove this morning.  Only had two bits, but caught them both.  The first was 14 in and 1.1 lbs.  The one in the photo was 24.5 in and a little over 3.5 lbs. post-55178-0-17912300-1440901344_thumb.j

Grove is in a housing area off of Johnson and Wolf River just before you get to Houston Middle School.  Neshoba is the one near Chic Fil A.  Let us know how it goes.  Haven't been there is a while.

Took a trip to Gibson County lake and boy did it pay off. Caught a 8lb (my PB) largemouth today on a Zara Spook on the 4th cast. Will definitely be going back soon.

Got shut out two afternoons in a row at the Memphis ponds. A tarantula-size spider tried to put me out of my misery while I was changing baits as well...

I caught 2 at neshoba and my girl caught 1. They were all maybe a pound each but it's nice to catch something. I caught mine on a white spinner and my girl caught hers with a Texas rig. Forgot what worm, I think it was a dark color with neon yellow tail. It started to get windy and the leaves started blowing into the water, I think that woke the fish up a little and made them curious.

I've been wanting to try it out there. I just have never made the trip.

Better make that trip. I'll be heading back real soon. Might just been pure luck catching the 8lber but I'm definitely gonna keep trying for that 10lb+.

Daycare gave up a few to me this morning. Tossed a frog all around the pond at daybreak and couldn't get any hits. Caught a couple on a Chatterbait and a couple on a Rage-rigged Pit Boss. Each 2lbs or less.
