Well wind was bad, but not as bad as the snot grass(algae) at the daycare pond. That stuff is nasty. I wont be back!

Jeff

Yea Jeff that stuff is NASTY!!! Normally the cold water kills most of it off but this warm winter has made it worse! So did ya catch anything?

Not a bite, but honestly I didn't give it much of a chance. I was out there MAYBE 20 mins. an the wind was bad and the snot was worse. I dont have much patience for having toclean my bait EVERY cast!

I know of 2 10lb fish caught out there in the last 2 years. But I am like you, most fish out there are small. I will dig up a post where RW caught an absolute FAT fish one day!

Went to collierville this afternoon from around 2:30- 5:15 . Met Carlton(gr8outdoorz) and we had a good time chatting away without many bites. I caught 2 dink bass before I had to go. Hopefully gr8 caught the monster after I left.

I'm heading out to Collierville in the morning. I will probably be fishing over at johnson park though. Haven't been back to the big lake in a while. Interested to see how its been holding water.

That daycare pond is off shea and houston levee? the road beside the fire station. I will have to try that one out.

Some people keep their honey-holes secret, but I have introduced a lot of guys

to mine, be it ponds or places on the Tennessee River. Just remember to remind

anyone you introduce to "our pond" that the only reason we have such a tremendous

resource so close is because we take care of our fish. I probably haven't caught

every big fish in the pond, but I might have at one time or another. Other guys

have an opportunity to catch a trophy because we put every fish back!

Well said RW! Betty was quickly returned safely back to her home as are all of the fish I catch. I always have and always will practice catch & release. I am like you in that I share my honey holes with others because the people I fish with MUST practice C&R and be good stewards of our natural resources. I really appreciate the information about the Germantown City Park ponds as it is always fun to fish new waters. You have my word that the people that fish with me will take very good care of what we fish!

fished the day care pond today at dusk...no bites on a crawfish plastic or crankbait (spin setup)....no bites on a hopper dropper (fly setup)...but then right about dark, i tied on a big ole frog popper on the fly rod....no joke, first cast, that thing hit the water and got swallowed at the exact same time!!!! nice nice bass, took my drag out hard and went to the middle of the pond....and then it spit the hook! fished another 20 minutes with no action... but for first time there, it was a good 45 minutes of fishing, im gonna have to give that place a second shot!!!!!
