BASS-N-TATERS Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 ok so no one has any updates or done any fishing... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 20, 2012 Super User Posted February 20, 2012 I caught my biggest bass of 2011 at Collierville Civic Center in December on a GMAN Jig and Rage Tail Craw. Last month I didn't have any luck with numbers, but caught a few 7-8# at Grove Park. Have not fished Neshoba in awhile. I will probably fish Collierville tomorrow morning. -Kent p.s. Check out "Picwick Is On Fire!" in the Fishing Reports section. We had a big day yesterday. Quote

Jeff Hey Jeff, It hasn't been drained in the past 5 years i been fishing it. You will never catch a bunch of numbers there but i have been getting some good sizes. I caught a few in the 5-7 lb range last weekend out there. I got my receiver put on my new truck so im going to head to Glen Springs this weekend. Any reports? Thanks, Carlton 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 21, 2012 Super User Posted February 21, 2012 What are you catching them on at the day care park? Jeff Quote
gr8outdoorz Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 What are you catching them on at the day care park? Jeff The bigger ones I got on slow rolled spinnerbait (chart & white w/ chart grub trailer) & blk/blu jig craw trailer. The smaller ones on Manns baby 1 minus (tenn shad). The smaller ones stay up by the creek entrance (closest to day care). The big ones stay on opposite end of pond. If u stand in front of the farthest light pole from the daycare (next to street), they stay within 30 ft of that pole. I have caught all my big ones in that area. 1 Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted February 22, 2012 Super User Posted February 22, 2012 I might be there. Just looked and wind is supposed to be brutal, so plan on thrwoing something that moves! Jeff Quote
volchuck Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 fished the grove about a week ago during a warm snap. The bite was great, they were crushing the shad, in fact caught one with a huge tail in its mouth 3-4lbs.. Slow rolling the spinner bait for me, another guy caught a big one swimming a jig. Tried a new rod out across Humphries a few nights after work, nothing there but I didnt spend more than 20 minutes each time... Quote
BASS-N-TATERS Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 how is the humphries pond? ive never fished it before... i dont think i will make it out to the daycare pond thursday...it does look windy..maybe sat sometime Quote
BASS-N-TATERS Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 hey fry where abouts on grove are you targeting... Quote
volchuck Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I've caught them all the way around grove, never a lot of bites but some decent fish. There are some good fish off Humphreys, I fish mostly the first pond across from the heart clinic, mainly cause it closest to me and the first I tried. Good fish in there but the bank can be hard to walk, and wear snake boots in spring/summer scary snakes all over it! I haven't really tried it this season other than testing a reel out, so I can't say if its fishing good yet. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 23, 2012 Super User Posted February 23, 2012 Headed out today to either grove or day care pond... swimbaits because of the wind! Jeff Quote
BASS-N-TATERS Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 wish i could be there...good luck to ya! please let us know how you did....the wind has been insane all day! got home and my garbage can was at the neighbors! got a question... does any certain line perform better than others in winds like we have today Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 23, 2012 Super User Posted February 23, 2012 Well wind was bad, but not as bad as the snot grass(algae) at the daycare pond. That stuff is nasty. I wont be back! Jeff Quote
