Super User Goose52 Posted February 11, 2012 Super User Posted February 11, 2012 Probably just a dream but it would be nice if once the new model is released that the earlier model would become available at clearance prices... Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 12, 2012 Super User Posted February 12, 2012 Calcutta with X-Drag and smaller body profile http://tv.shimano.co.../dvd/2012_bass/ Sweet looking reel. I watched the casting demo in this link. Casting starts around the 5 1/2 minute mark. The gentlemen who is doing the casting is Really Hammering out some impressive casts ! He does this - back to the target, over the head, whirling spin-a-rama that is just wild. Looks like the meter is reading casts of 94 or 95 plus yards. It's a little hard to read but either way, that's a good poke. A-Jay Quote
John G Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Where would one look to find out some info on the rod the gentleman was using? Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted February 14, 2012 Super User Posted February 14, 2012 Looks like he was getting those 93 - 99 meter casts with the new Antares, not the Calcutta. Impressive as all get out, whatever reel he was using. The Antares could make me switch from Daiwa. Maybe. ???? Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 15, 2012 Super User Posted February 15, 2012 Do you think we'll see any of the Pros utilizing that casting technique off the bow of a Ranger during the Classic ? A-Jay Quote
