Revo Sx

Anybody use these reels?? I'm thinking about getting one in 6:4:1 on a 7'3" mh mod for my cranking setup?? Any advice is useful thanks guys

The SXT has a better break. I'd go that route.

You can save a couple of bucks with a BPS PQ or cabonlite. I'd also look at the lower gear ratio of 5.4:1. If you must have a revo look to the winch for crankin, Specially with the deep divers and heavy plugs.

I have one and love it but couldn't say on cranking mines on a 7'6 MH veritas for jigs

Save up a bit more and splurge on the wench. You won't be disappointed. The new SX will work, might wear on you a bit with big deep diving baits but it will work.

I have one, and I love it. I own many of different reels, including Curado, Pro Qual, Citica, JM Sig, Pro Lite, Enigma, and this one is a world on its own. Yes there are reels like the Pro Qualifier that are cheaper, but this thing is wonderful for casting really light baits. I have mine on a 7' Vandetta M. I use it with a 1/32 weight and a 3/0 wide gap hook. Works great for lizards, paddle tail worms, and any light plastic. Very smooth, its my 2nd favorite, nest to my 200E7 Curado. Reviews are good, and personal using, I approve. You could go for the STX, or the Wench, I personally like the Black and Red (my favorite color combo), and the price is right. Get one, you wont be disappointed! Just add a little oil to the spool bearings when you get it, they seem to be a little dry for me (oil comes with reel).

^ thats what i wanted to hear i might be getting 2 actually one for jigs and one for crankbaits one on a veritas (jigs) and one a vendetta (cranking)

For deep cranking the specific cranking reels like the Winch, are worth the extra IMO. Beyond that the STX is only a few dollars more and worth it just for the added braking. The SX is a fine reel if you can deal with the mag only breaking.

I own 3 of them and they are great. Two of them for cranking and the other for jigs, can't go wrong.

I've had one for several years now and like it. It's the only mag brake reel I own and wanted to try it versus all the centrifugal brake reels I own. The brakes work just fine and I have no more, maybe even fewer backlashes with the SX than with my Shimano reels and the external cast control is an advantage. Casts well, smooth retrieve - what's not to like?

I have three SX's (6.4 and 7.1 to 1) and they are fine reels. I don't mean to muddy the water but I would at least take a look at the Lews Tournament and Tournament MG in 5.4 to one. I have five Lews reels and prefer them over my Revos and the Revos are great reels. If you are set on the Revo, be it an SX or Winch, you'll have no regrets but options are nice, especially if they can save you a buck or thirty.

I agree, I really like my Revo SX, but I think my Lews Tourney Pro is definately a cut above.

I have two SX's (both 6.4:1) and an STX (7:1). To me, gear ratio isn't necessarily as important as the IPT.

I actually prefer the SX to the STX. Just personal preference but I feel like I have more control with it.

I use the SX for both cranking and swim jigs. They are my go to reels.

The reel is solid, got one recently and love it. It bombs lures and has an awesome amount of drag.
