LuckyHandsINC. Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I spilled a bottle of it on my wood floor yesterday. It's more slippery than ice now. I've almost fallen more times than I can count. I hope it wears off quickly. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 7, 2012 Super User Posted February 7, 2012 A little Murphy's will take care of that. Quote
Midnight Splash2 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Do you guys see an increase with KVD for casting distance with braid? I bought my first bottle and sprayed it on a new spool of 30lb Suffix 832 on a Curado. I honestly could not tell any differance when it came to distance. I havnt tried it on Mono yet. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 7, 2012 Super User Posted February 7, 2012 The only difference I see with braid is it helps hold the coating and color longer. Quote
LuckyHandsINC. Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 A little Murphy's will take care of that. Thanks ill give it a shot tonight, before I break my arm on my way to my bedroom. Quote

Nkybassfisherman Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I've always used the KVD L and L but I've heard people saying that an acts as a degreaser and to not spray any reel parts with it. So my question is this true? And also is it best to remove the spool to spray the line or would it be okay to spray the line with the spool still on the reel? Thanks. Quote
Dogface Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I've always used the KVD L and L but I've heard people saying that an acts as a degreaser and to not spray any reel parts with it. So my question is this true? Put some oil or a lubricant on some small metal parts and spary them. Then tell us what happened. Quote

I spray on all my reels the night before a trip. And I soak the reel ( line ) when I spray. I have been useing the KVD line & lure cond. for years and I have never had a problem with the reels or the line!!!! Reel Magic I would never use on my line or reels! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 8, 2012 Super User Posted February 8, 2012 It works, but so does warm water. I used up what had and didn't buy it again. Before my offshore outings I soak my mono spinning spools, then troll my line out, perfect for the day. I'm not against L & L, just like the way I do it. Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 ive never really noticed any difference using KVD L&L compared to not using it. I will use up the bottle i have, but probably wont be buying anymore, especially since i didnt seem to have many if any line problems at all before ever using it... Quote
NitroZ9 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 As stated, L&L will absolutely not harm your reels as it is a polymer based product. Other line conditioners are silicone based and can cause problems. The anti-corrosion properties in L&L are beneficial to your reel and any other fishing related items. I have found L&L to work very well on flourocarbon. Most flouro. is fairly stiff and starts coiling after being on a reel for a short period of time. L&L softens my flouro., making it much more manageable and allows me to use it longer. With the cost of flouro., that's a big help. These same properties also help with the manageability of any line used on a spinning reel. Quote

I have done seminars at Bass pro and I take two bait cast reels, of the same kind ( Citca's )of reel and same line and lb. test. I show the people both reels and the memory of both lines,I now spray one reel with the KVD L & L cond. and one hour later the memory of the sprayed reel is gone!! It does work!!! Quote

shortbasser Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 You can save yourself $4 per bottle if you go to the mfg. site and buy the "cosmetic-special". Nothing wrong with the product. Labels have blemishes. http://cleverinnovations.net/details/category/4/prodid/83/ Shortbasser Quote
