Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 12, 2012 Super User Posted February 12, 2012 Being in a infantry unit as a infantryman for 4 years training for 4 years to go to Afghanistan to at the last minute be switched to the BSTB and sent to Kuwait instead thus throwing out the previous 4 years of combat training and all credit of being the best company in tha battalion the "tip of the spear" getting all the hooah missions and constant deployments in te past and goin above and beyond just went right out the window. Ya wanna see 130 irritated grumpy ticked off guys come look at my company. By going to Kuwait it's a good bet your chances of staying alive have dramatically increased, sounds like a pretty good thing to me, bet your wife and kids are pretty happy too. By the way, everyone is coming home. Quote

By the way, everyone is coming home. It is and in a way I'm glad because it's almost a sure bet I'm coming home in one piece. But the 11bravo in me is ticked and disappointed it's kinda like practicing your flipping and pitching gearing up for big bass battles to go fish for sunfish with a bobber lol. Good thing I didn't go buy all that cool looking gear though won't need it in Kuwait. They are talking bout doing some cool training though like air assault school and expert infantry badge if I can get 1 or both I'd be happy as hell. Plus things right next door to Kuwait are heating up but I HIGHLY doubt they will send a guard unit from upstate New York in. I hope it's all talk though that would be one nasty fight. Quote
quanjig Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Glade you don't have to be in the nasty mix! Be safe wherever you land! Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 12, 2012 Super User Posted February 12, 2012 Go to www.topix.com and put in your local zip code then go to discussion. That should be enough said...I get amused, and disgusted by the amount of craziness and ignorant people that runs amok on that site. Makes me never wanna go back to the town I went to high school. On other hand, it's probably like that nearly everywhere else... Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted February 13, 2012 Super User Posted February 13, 2012 When your on the phone with some one and they are talking to you plus everyone else in te background. You never know who they are talking to you or some one there with them. I can't stand it. It's so frustrating Quote
JIGFISHERMAN. Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I hate the fact that when growing up JET SKIS, AND SKIERS were the worst watercraft in the lake, as far as being rude, inconsiderate, ignorant, etc. NOW IT'S FISHERMAN you can count on a FISHERMAN to buzz by you close, cut you off on a spot, motor past so close you could pee on them, etc. Without question, around me anyway, the worst people on the lake are fisherman. Also hate how club tournament fisherman, fishing for $75 in winnings think they own the lake AND think they are the next KVD Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 13, 2012 Super User Posted February 13, 2012 Not much bothers me. One thing that does irritate me is the term trash fish. To me trash is something I put out at the curb on trash day. As far as fish goes, I like catching all of them, big or small, tasty or not. I find it almost comical that some may tout a certain species as something really special, when in fact they are pretty easy to catch, very common, don't fight too hard and not all that tasty. Then call a fish that can strip out 50-75 yards of line in an eye blink, give you fight that you'll never forget, and are very sporting to catch, since some are not classified as a "game fish", call them trash. That being the case, some one else can have the treasure, I'll take the trash. Quote
Quillback Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 60 foot yachts chugging along at 12 knots kicking out a 3 foot wake as they pass by 10 yards away to where you are fishing. Jet skies. Or a 60 yacht chugging along at 12 knots kicking out a 3 foot wake passing by 10 yards away from where I'm fishing, that has a pack of jet skiers zig-zagging behind it jumping the wakes. People fishing off the dock at the boat ramp that get an attitude when you tie up to the dock to go get your truck and trailer. People diving/swimming off the dock at the boat ramp that get an attitude when you tie up to the dock to go get your truck and trailer. Geese, ducks, gulls or any other feathered vermin that approach my boat looking for a handout. Pulling in 100 yard of mono that some slob was too lazy to put in the trash and instead tossed it into the lake. People who back halfway down a single lane boat ramp, lift the cowling off their outboard, and start working on it, starting this about 5 seconds before you tie up to the dock, sounds unbelievable, but I've had it happen to me twice over the years. Super User Root beer Posted February 13, 2012 Super User Posted February 13, 2012 Here one I hear often on a day like today. It grinds my gear when someone say, "I hate Monday." I find it stupid to have a mood base on day of week it is. I dictate a good day base on what going happen, not the actual day. Today is a beautiful day, it only so-so because I'm still on crutches and I'm spending it inside doing accounting rather than enjoying the beautiful day outside.. Quote
quanjig Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 People that butcher a sentence by inserting the word "like" at every pause. I once overheard a conversation that had no less than 25 "likes" in it!! Quote

Im guilty of it but I change "like" to "f-in" I have a bad mouth I drop f bombs like no other it's usually when I'm riled up it's every other word or on pauses like you said. I hate when people say they have a case of the Monday's. It's so stupid. I also hate when I'm in class and the teacher asks why everyone is so quiet and people say because it's Monday. Really? What did you do Sunday night that has you hating Mondays so much? Quote

I used to be guilty of that. Only I pretty much incorporated everyday into it. Mondays I was usually in the worst shape though. I drank with a vengeance Friday thru Sunday night. Wasn't as bad the rest of the week though. Awwww who am I kidding. I was torn up from the floor up, all week. I eventually found the cure to it. I just quit going to class. I eventually found the cure to that too. I gave up getting drunk. Quote

I can drink and do whatever I want on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday without a problem (except for money). I don't think I'll ever give up drinking, but I sure as hell will always go to class. Quote

Super User Root beer Posted February 14, 2012 Super User Posted February 14, 2012 Alcohol sucks. With that said, I went to a bikini contest the night before a final exam and showed up at an accounting final reek of smoke and booze. Ah, good times. I made an A in that accounting class. That was last year and the last accounting class I made an A in. Last semester I ended up with two Cs and all Bs. Screw Federal Income! Quote

Study high, take the test high, get high scores. Never worked for me. However my roommate wound up with straight A's doing that. Quote

So I've heard. I've also heard it helps you get in zone on certain topics when it comes to writing papers. As long as it's proofread before turning it in. Quote
