Koop Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Looking for some input on these, I'm looking to try out a small variety of some shallow square billed cranks. Looking at the SK Series 4S, Rapala DT Fat and Bomber Model B. I've never had issues with any of these brands of cranks before, but these will be the first square bills I have tried. Is the performance of the bomber model B any better than non balsa square bill cranks? Quote
aarogb Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Try the Zoom E2 Shallow Crankbait and the Rapala DT Fat. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I use a lot of the Strike King Series 4S and love them! They go through wood, grass etc pretty good. The wobble and bigger profile on them is why i use them. The Chartreuse/black and shad patterns are my favorites! Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted September 7, 2009 Super User Posted September 7, 2009 the lucky craft fat CB has a huge wobble. the bandit 100 series. the lucky craft G.D.S. mini dr doesnt have a square bill but it bounces off rocks great. Quote
guitarkid Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Bandit 100 series are good cranks to try. -gk Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 8, 2009 Super User Posted September 8, 2009 I like the LC RC 1.5 Quote
avid Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 the bagley balsa b is an old favorite of mine. Hard to beat for fat wide wobbling cranks. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I like the Strike King 1XS for super shallow water and also the Bandit Footloose. They have been working pretty good over the last couple of weeks over the weeds and in very skinny water. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted September 8, 2009 Super User Posted September 8, 2009 I've been using both the Norman Fat Boy and Norman Thin N. The fat boy has a much wider wobble than the Thin N. Quote
Danny1991 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 My #1 square bill crank is a Bandit 100 also planning on picking up some Spro little johns next time I'm at BPS, They look like some awesome little cranks! Quote
Koop Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 I got a variety of 5 different brands to try out. I'm not so sure about the bandit 100's good reviews from you all but I'm not to sure about the 1/4oz weight Quote

Ah yes, I forgot to mention those. They work pretty good for me also, but they are a tad to small for my liking. Quote
westpalmfrogpunk Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I use the Strike king Series 4s and the Lucky Craft RC 1.5 and 2.5. Both have there place for me. For the money I feel the Strike Kings are hard to be beat. I just wish there was a silent version. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 8, 2009 Super User Posted September 8, 2009 I caught my PB on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern. The Bomber Square A is another suggestion. 8-) Quote
TheHammer84 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Another vote for the SK 4S in Sexy Shad. Also a fan of the Norman Fat Boy in Nutter Shad. Quote
guitarkid Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I almost forgot, the Daiwa Peanut is pretty good. -gk Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 8, 2009 Super User Posted September 8, 2009 I've had great success with the Bomber Square A, and Norman Mad N. The Bomber Balsa B is another good bait. Falcon Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted September 9, 2009 Super User Posted September 9, 2009 One should never overlook the potential for a Big M custom. I have a few of his shallow cranks and they are incredible. Quote
Bean Counter Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 My favorite is the bomber Square A, but I tried to buy some last month and no one has any. I checked on line at the bomber site and aparently they no longer make them. Quote

kikstand454 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 i like the bandit100's and the norman thin n's. havent ran the shallow sk's but i LOVE the series 5's and 6's and im sure that the shallow ones are just as good. who can afford lucky crafts? hahah Quote
Big Tom Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I am a big fan of the Lucky Craft 1.5 baits. They may be pricey but the odds of losing it aren't as great as you may think and they are tough little boogers. Quote
Primus Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 My favorite is the RC 1.5, the 0.5 & the 2.5 have also earned a spot in one of my Plano boxes. Quote
