BassAssassin726 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Bassin around here has been incredibly slow even with warmer than usual temps. Ive been getting skunked at all my usually great spots. I have a marina near me that i havent tried this winter. Would it be worth my while to check it out or would bass not go there during winter? Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 what have you got to lose by trying? especially if your main spots arent producing results... Quote
jkarol24 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 If the marina is deeper, then it will hold bass. Start at the deepest boat slips with a spoon, jig, or dropshot and look on your graph for suspended bass. Work in shallower until you start to see fish and you should be able to pick a few off. Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Thanks for the tip but i dont have a fish finder, let alone a boat. In the summer i can drive right into the marina and fish it, but its closed in the winter unless you have a boat slip. So i have to walk the bank of the river to get to it. Im gonna give it a shot the next nice day. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 7, 2012 Global Moderator Posted February 7, 2012 Marinas almost always have deeper water to allow boats to get in and out and be stored in the slips. Also the dock floats grow algae which attracts baitfish. I love fishing marinas and wouldn't be shy about trying them any time of year. Quote
