Hey i am looking to buy a PH tester and Oxygen tester for fishing and montering the water in lakes but im have a hard to find specific units made to do just this at a good price. I need a PH tester that i can moniter the PH at the surface all the way down to 15 or 20 feet. And I also need to find an oxygen tester too. I have looked online at bass pro for them but didnt see anything. If any one know any good units please post them. Thanks

If you want an honest to goodness quality (read: accurate) meter for those type readings, not just some gimmick, plus you want that length of cable, you're probably going to spend at least $400+ on the pH meter, and $500+ on the oxygen meter. Neither of those type devices are worth spending that kind of money on in relation to how much they will (or actually won't) help your fishing. They simply don't eliminate enough water to make it worth your money. You'll get way more usable info for half the cost from a good graph.

I use to have one that mounted on my boat. I found it to be helpful to elimate water, the probe mounted at the bottom of the transom so it only read just below the surface. I was quite suprised of the different readings i would get in a small cove. I also had a spare probe into the deeper water to check it. When I sold that boat I wish I would have taken it off For now I can't find one. It was made by Lake Systems Division In Mt. Vernon Mo. I guess they are out of business because I did not find them.

The people who made PH and oxygen meters are out of business for a good reason. Save you money buy a good sonar outfit.

These types of devices are still used in the aquarium business. I think Milwakee makes a few that are handheld. might look there.

Do you have any idea what is the preferred ph or DO levels you want to monitor?

Fresh water bass survive within a DO level of 3 to 12 mg/L. DO variances from day light to dark is about 2- 5 mg/L.

Oakton 300 is a reasonable priced ph./ DO portable meter.

If bait fish are present so are the bass, a good sonar unit is far more useful than any ph/DO meter.
