T_Dot Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 im looking for a plastic worm that will stay afloat on the surface, and not just a suspend a few inches below the surface. it must stay afloat with a 5/0 ewg worm hook, and high strength line. im looking for something 4+ inches. thanks Quote
powerman970 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 All V&M brand worms are floaters I believe. I know the finesse worms float, that's why I like them. Also, BPS makes a floating worm and so does Berkley. Check the Basspro website, they have several. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted February 24, 2007 Super User Posted February 24, 2007 You'll have to be a little more specific. At least 50% of all plastic worms float, maybe two thirds. I think you're looking for the same worm that I'm looking for. I'm looking for a plastic worm with the buoyancy to float a standard wire 3/0 Gamakatsu hook. The Strike King 3x Floating Worm was THE worm for surface work, which floated high on the surface during long pauses. Unfortunately, it seems that most (all) tackle distributors have dropped the Floating Cyberflexxx Worm. Roger Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Danny Joe's Original Floaters are one of the best floating worms made IMO. Very hard to find. Brad Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 27, 2007 Super User Posted February 27, 2007 Hety Catt, Glad to see you are up this early. Me, too. I throw worms on top of lilly pads and have luck with them all, including Gulp! Two years ago on the Nottoway River a bass jumped out of the water and hit the worm that I had just stopped moving on top of a lilly pad on the way down. Shocked me to no end. But he landed in the boat and helped me get my five bass limit in the tournament. I use Strike King for my Shakey Head rigs although Ike says to use a regular worm so it does not stand up too straight but more on an angle. Wish I could be more help on this subject. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 27, 2007 Super User Posted February 27, 2007 Sinus and acid reflux I use floating worms when I want to slow the fall of a Texas Rig; they are killer on Wacky Rigs to (real slow fall rate). Quote
T_Dot Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 basspro has a few floating worms i might check out Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 2, 2007 Super User Posted March 2, 2007 The BPS branded floating worms do float, but the colors are horrible. The 'green pumpkin' color is actually more of a lime green. Quote
