Okeechobee_Cracker Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Id get a couple packs of watermelon senkos... 3 or 4 terminator spinner baits....couple jig-n-pigs.......just get stuff to prepare for winter..............I moved out of fort myers over the summer...before I knew I was moving I applyed for the bp in fort myers and got a job interview but ended up moveing...o well.....if thats the one your going to tell me how it is Quote
Fish Chris Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Personally speaking, I'd save the $65 for gas money. Even without knowing what tackle you have, I bet you already have enough to stick a bunch of fish, and probably even a monster ! :-) Kick that bait monkey to the curb :-) Fish PS, But a BPS would still be fun to browse through on a bad weather / high wind day.... especially if they had the big aquariums. Those are so cool ! :-) (and yes, I can 'easily' walk through a tackle store with a wallet full of $$$, like with a friend that needs something for himself, and never buy a thing) Quote

I wish I had half of your will power!!!!!! Eric Quote
Plastik Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 With 65$ I would buy at least 4 packs of senkos, and a couple spools of line. Reason, Senkos are so soft, you can never have to many, and not having spools of line can come and bite you in the rear when you dont have 65$ in your back pocket. Plastik. Quote
RiskKid. Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Take it from the experience of a fella who has a BPS in his backyard..............you will have no trouble spending that $65.......the baitmonkey lives at BPS......buy want you have not been able to find and really have wanted for a while as they have most everything Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 30, 2006 Super User Posted October 30, 2006 Tell the manager you will give him $65 to let you fish in the tank for an hour...tell him/her you are a skeptic and want to test out some of the "high end" stuff without purchasing it. The look on his/her face will be worth the price of admission. Quote
cheeseman Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Get some suspending crankbaits and suspending jerkbaits. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 30, 2006 Super User Posted October 30, 2006 I have a Cabela's available on the way home from work, and the BPS is almost ready to open which is about 10 miles from my work, and also on the way home. I've already made a list. Quote
GAMEOVER Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Assuming you have nothing to fish with.. 1 Lucky Craft Pointer, (15-$20.00) 1 bag of GYCB Fat Ikas in watermellon seed, (4-$6.00) 2 Rapala DT-6 Sure Set series (one in pearl grey shiner and the other gold for dark/clear water) (12-$14-00), 1 Lucky Craft Sammy, (15-$20.00) 1 Heddon Tiny Torpedo. (4-$5.00) ---------------------------------- 50-$63.00 If money left get a pack of OWNER or Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG hooks for the Fat Ikas. That should catch you fish on any body of water that you will fish in. Quote

JiggaMan512 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 (and yes, I can 'easily' walk through a tackle store with a wallet full of $$$, like with a friend that needs something for himself, and never buy a thing) cuz they dont have huds at bps! everything in there prob just looks like panfish bait to you FC!!! > ;D Quote
0119 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 You going to the Ft. Myers Bass Pro? I hit it yesterday, bumper to bumper people inside. Exactly one hour from my door to theres but man was I disappointed. Its like going to Wal Mart. The fishing dept. keeps getting smaller and smaller while the gift section and clothing gets bigger. The reel case was huge but was seriously oriented towards the saltwater customer, as was the lure sections. No baitcasters over $200 on display, you had to request to see one from their storage shelves. All in all the freshwater tackle sections were a fraction of the size of the Orlando Bass Pro Shops. Guest avid Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 take the 65 and ask the manager if he'll extend you some additional credit. singed B. Monkey Quote
Tom Bass Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I have a Bass Pro Shop not 3 miles from my house. My wife is amazed if I walk out of there without spending at least $65. Quote

Tom Bass Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 One piece of advice. The lures in the center aisle bins look like good deals but often they seem to be the leftovers that no one buys for whatever reason. Look for the red tags on items for good deals. They do have some really good deals on rod and reel sets. Ask the guys working there about deals. They are very helpful. Have fun at BPS. Quote
bass109 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 New fishing lures and line ;D, that works for you. Quote
