Ima Bass Ninja Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 +1 on Evers. he did a whole segment the other day about brush piles and i dont think had his jersey on once. Was nice to see a normal lookin dude out fishing and sinking brush piles. Ive meet him before as well and he was a stand up guy as well. I agree that was one of the better segments. I also really enjoyed his segment in the magnum shakey heads. I actually enjoy Stacy king advice too. I'm sure I'd enjoy ott Defoe if he ever does one. probably the only one I haven't gotten much use from is Brain Snowden. Not because of him but what they had him teaching. Quote
JIGFISHERMAN. Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 theres was one episode about strike king ocho, kvd said it has erratic action, i stopped watching the kvd segement, i like edwin evers That isn't BS on his end. It DOES have erratic action. I was amazed when I saw it on Hook N Look.....You could really see it with the under water shot. Quote
telmomarques Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I agree that it is a great show with lots of information. But, i would like to hear advice from some of the other pros.....if i hear "it really has an erratic action to it" one more time i may just pull what little hair i have left on my head out. I do believe KVD is the only person that imparts an erratic action when dead stickin a senko.... That isn't BS on his end. It DOES have erratic action. I was amazed when I saw it on Hook N Look.....You could really see it with the under water shot. like bass ninja said, it really annoys me everytime i watch bass pro and kvd said that lure have erratic action, also there was a episode on smallmouth and tube, kvd said tube has erratic action, its same as bill dance say son, biggun, its getting annoying Quote
Bigbarge50 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Evers is the best on there in my opinion too. Maybe I am crazy, but I have always been disapointed in this show. I thought it would be more informative then it is (lots of commercial time seemingly.....especailly that KVD fishing in the BPS tank) but compared to most, it is pretty informative. Bill Dance might be on all private ponds and have his catch phrases, but he does actually talk technique, boat placement, and structure....... I think he does not get enough credit for the information he puts out there. I thought the spinning real stuff he has had on there a little bit ago was actually really good and tthe best info I have seen so far this season. Quote

Mike D from Lunkerville Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I don't like Lunkerville. It's just boring...not sure why people watch that show. JMHO. ew... yuk... blech... i feel sick... i just wanna be liked. i know your type... you're that guy who's foot is always on the trolling motor, and when u catch a fish, you move down the bank... and there i am on the back of the boat, wanting to stay and catch all the rest of the fish there... but you're run and gun... high octane... racing to catch that BIG BASS! buhahahaaa! i'm kidding you, of course... just having fun... Lunkerville is not for everyone... we're doing something a little different: embracing the goodness and recreational aspect of fishing... trying to get people outside and away from their computers and video games... we're offering a program that is entertaining and makes people think about those good fishing memories when they were a kid... something that no one else seems to be doing... i understand it's not everyones cup of tea, and that's cool. but don't sell us short either... check out a few more episodes... it might grown on you! 3 Quote
paulmandude Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 What happend to the show?? I was waiting all day to watch todays episode. It's not bad enough that my team lost in the Super Bowl, but to have their parade start and be on over The Bass Pros is a huge smack in the face! Quote
basscatcher8 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 yeah they pre empted the next bite as well....only thing i got on the dvr today was Bill's show. Quote
jdw174 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 The Bass Pros will repeat the one that was pre-empted this coming Sunday at 11AM. Bass Pros is my favorite right now. I also loved Classic Patterns, but sadly there won't be any new shows produced this year . I also like Lost Lake, but they're also all re-runs and emails from me trying to find out about new shows have not been answered. The J.P. DeRose show isn't bad either. Fishing University is a total 30-minute infomercial and a joke. I refuse to watch Roland Martin catch ANYTHING, likewise Shaw Grigsby. I admit to being a big KVD fan, but like some of you, I think his segments on TBP's are very predictible. In fact, any video with him in it is that way. Evers is a very close runner to KVD, and I always watch his segments. He's had some of the best. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Man was i ticked when i sat down to watch my dvr'd Bass pro's and saw the giants parade ...i immediatly looked to see when it re-aired so i could record that one. Looks like it will be a good show with some useful topics Quote
msolorio Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 yea seriously! idc about the giants parade, i just wanna watch the bass pros! lol Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted February 8, 2012 Super User Posted February 8, 2012 I watched a show on tv the other day in which Shaw Grigsby took a double amputee Marine who had served 3 tours out fishing for 2 days on a show called "Ultimate fishing experience". Shaw let him drive his boat, was VERY patient with him in every aspect, and you could see it in his eyes when the marine caught fish! He sat and talked to him more than he fished and you could tell he really genuinely cared. Shaw is my new favorite angler!! The show was VERY touching to me, and moved me to realize things that we take for granted could be gone in an instant! So to you guys who are hating on Shaw, I challenge you to look this show up(episdoe specific) and tell me it isn't one of the best fishing shows you have ever seen! Jeff 1 Quote

Jeff I can tell you from experience, Shaw is a legit guy. Probably my favorite pro angler. You gotta like how he can still be competive at the pro level. I honestly think alot of the old school legends are overated compared to the elite modern guys. Its so much more competive now. Quote

Jeff Ultimate Fishing experience is rapidly becoming one of my favorite shows.. The 2 before the Shaw Grigsby episode were awesome as well...Can't wait to see the episode of the guy that fished in the Southern Open. Quote

craww Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Yeah that may have been a little over the top lol. I just think its awesome to see him in the thick of things, alot of the old schoolers cant compete any more. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 9, 2012 Super User Posted February 9, 2012 Shaw seems about as genuine as it gets to me, so he's right up there with Hank Parker for me as far as "old school" guys go. I also saw the Fishing Experience show and it just further solidified what I already thought about Shaw. Quote

I just think its awesome to see him in the thick of things, alot of the old schoolers cant compete any more. Paul Elias would be considered to be and old schooler and won an event which started the a-rig craze. I think they have there places in time for any angler. Quote
TourPT Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I watch all the fishing shows I can, even the ones I am not really all that into like salt water fishing for its still better then anything else on TV these days, but what I want to know is why the heck was Zona's show a rerun last night already? It can't be rerun time already, they just started the season a few weeks ago. You got 5 million hunting shows all year long and just a few fishing shows for a few months and its rerun time already? Zona get your butt back out on the water and record something. LOL Quote
