The lake has come way up in the last few days, several feet, and a front came in yesterday, but I figured I would go anyway. I was flippin the newly flooded timber in about 5-8 feet of water. Visibility was about 6 inches or so. Caught this fat girl on a 3/8 Big O Brush jig from Siebert Outdoors in Falcon Craw with matching Falcon Craw Rage Craw. She was layed up against a huge log. I was immediately hung after the hookset, but I didn't give her no slack and she finally swam out. She weighed in at 8-13!!!! Special thanks to my wife Sarah, who drove the 17 miles to the ramp so I could have a decent picture of my PB!!! The fish was released in good health.

Makeshift stringer, slow ride back to ramp, stopped often to be sure fish was ok. She never showed any signs of dying and swam away strong. I am confident the fish will survive. Now, if it had been August and 90* water temps, I wouldn't have done it.

Thanks. That jig IS money. I have plenty to last me the year (I think), it will be the only jig I throw this year. I was hyped, I fished for another hour and called it quits, I couldn't concentrate!! I just wanted to get home and check out the pics. IMO, that is a HUGE fish for Lake Waco, it is certainly not known for being a big bass lake. Hoping I can get a few more in that class this year though.
