JohnMac Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I was reading a tackle tour product preview of the punch skirt and this thing looks killer for getting through thick vegatation. The company, pay check baits is also making the punch hook that is going to be very similar if not identical to the BMF hook which was very popular with flippin anglers. My question is has anyone used them? Quote
Chris W Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I did not buy the skirts but did buy the hooks, they are exactly like the BMF hooks that I have. I read somewhere that it was the same hook by the same manufacturer. Quote
Super User David P Posted August 29, 2009 Super User Posted August 29, 2009 I have used them, and done quite well. Big fish so far is 9lbs4oz a few weeks back. I've still caught quite a few dinks even with the added bulk of the punch skirt. Quote
zbigbadaaron Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 It's really hard to believe that guys claim to catch like 10 pounders every 2-3 weeks. :-X Quote

But if it is, here's the fish I'm talking about : http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1249855886 Quote

If you are on the right body of water and you got the know how than it is VERY possible! Just because it doesn't happen for you doesn't mean it cannot happen! Quote

Super User J Francho Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 No, Koopa, I meant there are guys here that fish waters that hold DD and better. A 10+ in WI would be a remarkable catch. BTW, I just read a local report by a friend of mine that fishes downstate, NY. 8-6 on a spinnerbait. WooHoo Pete!. Sorry, that's off topic, but had to mention. Quote

Gotcha, an 8-6 is a beast up north, congrats to your friend. Biggest I have seen weighed actually was an 8-3 out of lake Geneva. Never seen a DD weighed or landed in person out of WI, though I have heard stories of course. Quote
