Bass-minded Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I'm about to go fishing for smallmouth in the local river. It is kind of murky, medium-gradient river. Any tips? Quote

JustinPlog Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Use dark colored baits like black worms and jigs because when fishing murky water its mostly about the profile of the bait. I've also had luck with a dark colored crayfish shad-rap. finally ask around what has been working and trust your instincts. Quote
senco lover Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Try using a worm with a split shot bouncing along the bottom. Quote
aclark609 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Fish eddies and anything that breaks the current. These are the places where they can ambush food effectively without consuming a lot of energy. Also topwater is pretty effective in stained water if the water is warm enough. I've caught em' this time of the year on topwater. Don't let anyone tell you that it won't work. Quote
