I've tried to do this on some of the spinnerbaits that have some corrosion on them , and i have had little if any success. Most of the time the wire just breaks off (this happens mostly with SK stuff) . Any body got any tips to keep the wire from breaking?

Without a pic, it's hard to say, but usually spinner blades are on a split rings attached to the swivel and you can switch them out at the split ring. If the spinnerbait employs a barrell or crane type swivel then you would have to rebend the arm by simply cutting off the old bend and then rebend. At this point you can add a new swivel and while your at it, add a snap to the blade and swivel to make change outs easier in the future.
