lmoore Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Hey guys, Wondering if anyone has any reccomendations on 7lb flouro? I'm a Trilene 100% guy, but wanted to move smaller than the 8 pound I normally use. I feel like 6 pound is a little lighter than what I want, so 7 pound would give me some of the decreased size and workability I want, without sacrificing too ,much strength. I actually got some 8 pound Berkley Nanofil to try this year, but I just spooled it on, and I'm not a fan. I know Aaron Martens is a big supporter of 7 pound Sunline, but does anyone here have recommendations? Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 24, 2012 Super User Posted January 24, 2012 Not many actual brands that label/sell 7lb. as a breaking strain, and it doesn't really matter that much considering that there are no standards in labeling. You're not getting what is listed relative to actual breaking strain (almost always more), so if you're not happy with your 8# line, go with the one you mentioned, or a good brand of 6lb. and you'll never know the difference. -T9 Quote

Maybe I'll get some 6 right now and test it out, and if I really don't like it I can jump up to the 7 like I was thinking. Quote

Sniper is far from the best fluoro. Toray makes superb light lines, Super Finesse is a great line in 7lb (if you can find it) Upgrade is a great line in 7lb as well. Likely one of the very best in that specific category is Bawo Premium Plus. It's got a very good diameter to strength ratio. Quote

I use sunline sniper due to the reason they have 5 lbs for 200 yds, toray only got 109. Quote
