MuffinMan Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I purchased a Pfleuger Trion GX Ultralight reel and a Berkely Cherrywood Ul rod roughly a month ago, they are rated for 2-6 lb line I have Stren 6lb mono on it now and was thinking about going with Berkely NanoFil or small braid. I am not farmiliar with either of the two so which am I better off going with? Is my reel/rod compatable for braid? Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted January 23, 2012 Super User Posted January 23, 2012 I wouldnt use braid for UL. Go with a 6# flouro. I use Stren flouro on my UL. Quote
Packard Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 5lb Power Pro or 4lb Fluoro is what I'd go with. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 My only comment is that you had better be an accomplished spinning reel angler to use 5lb braid with a sewing thread diameter. Gary Yamamoto uses thin braid. but he does not even go that thin. I recommend not going below 15lb/4lb diameter. Quote
