I'll start... Scrutch was a nickname given to me by an older cousin as a child. I hated it then, but it grew on me over time to the point that my sisters still call me that to this day. It usually works for screen names because it is relatively obscure. Quote

It's the first three letters of my name and the first four of my wife's name. It's been my user name on every forum I've been on since then, and just about every email address I've ever had has been stasher1@____________....with the exception of my student email account(s). I was fishing on the front of the boat and she was on the back reading and she looks up an asked " why do you have to be quite when fishing?". I started flippin and pitchin in 1981 and whenever anyone asked me how I caught my fish, that was normally the answer. My club members would even say, "Don't tell me Doug....pitchin and flippin. "I had it on the back window of my truck and even had a hat made up with it. It also sounds better than pickin and flickin. Quote

The one that got away Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 My screen name is in honor of a 50+ inch Northern that I lost at Lake Champlain, Labor Day weekend 2009. It was "the one that got away". Mid-afternoon, good conditions, in N. Hero VT just south of the Rt 2 bridge by a partially submerged dock way off to the right, 1/2 ounce white Terminator spinnerbait. Losing that fish will haunt me to my grave. Talking about anymore won't help. In fact, bringing up the bad memory might make me change my screen name. Quote

Not only is it my favorite childhood movie....but for some reason I reminded everybody of one as well. I had green strips in my hair back in my rebellion days....The girls loved it.....LOL. Yes I know I swapped out the "e" for an "i".....Don't ask why.... We had another thread like this awhile back. The same week we went out and bought a racing kart(used) and the number on it was "00". I used that same number for 18 years of racing. The last kind of car I raced was and IMCA( International Modified Car Association). Most places called them open-wheeled mods for short. The first ever web forum I joined was a racing based forum and my name there was 00 mod. And so it stuck! Jeff Quote

When I joined my first forum (BPS), I couldn't think of anything, looked over at Ginger, and typed in "fatg", seeing as she was a LOAD. Close to 30 pounds overweight! Kind of stuck ever since, and a lot of you guys refer to me as G, which I like. I'm really not fat, LOL. 2 Quote
