basser89 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I was reading the one thread last week about the BPS tackle bags and swimbait had recommended the Advanced Angler's Pro Series bags. Now I'm usually not a big fan of Cabelas but I decided to check it out. I checked out the Super Mag size and it seemed to fit what I needed. Ordered it over the weekend and it showed up yesterday. This bag is put together very well and it holds almost everything now! Its definitely a boat bag, I don't think I want to tote this one around for shore fishing! If you're in the market for a new bag, check these out! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20327_TGP&rid=&indexId=cat20327&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=1&parentType=index&parentId=cat20327&id=0038875 They're still on sale too! swimbait Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Glad you like it basser89. I actually got turned on to that bag from someone else on this forum. The true value of the three largest bags is their versatility. There are so many styles of utility boxes the same size as the 3700 it's amazing what I can do with this depending on the type of fishing I might do on a particular day. It even fits all my swimbait boxes I make out the the plano 3731s. Your correct though, the three large bags are boat bags, you don't want to carry them around, unless you have a pack animal. Quote
JacobK Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 my experience with the cabelas advanced angler's pro series bag wasn't as pleasant. i received the bag with one of the straps barely sewn on so i returned it and agreed to pay shipping for another one to be sent out. promptly received it, loaded it up with my tackle and was on my way. first day out the same strap rips off in the same way : my 20 dollar plano bag served me better than the cabelas bag. NewAngler Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I just got the Browning 360 tackle bag. Its pretty sweet. I went with that over the BPS backpack version.I do a lot of wading/ shoreline walking, so its perfect. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 29, 2009 Super User Posted August 29, 2009 I've had the Super Mag size for a few years now, and I'm quite pleased. I've beaten the crap out of that thing, and it keeps on tickin'. I would recommend these bags to anyone. Quote
Super User Marty Posted August 30, 2009 Super User Posted August 30, 2009 I have one of those Cabela's bags in a smaller size and have been very pleased with it. Quote

I liked the OcheeCobbe Fats bag but didn't love it. Most of the zipper handles had come off mine. Either slipped off the tab or the tab itself broke off. :-/ The main zipper was starting to go bad on mine too and the zipper was tearing away from the fabric too. You're right though, you can pack a ton of stuff in them! But this Super Mag size, I can get more! LOL! I'm really happy they offer the bag without the boxes! Actually saved me money going that way! Didn't need that many extra boxes right now either. WAY too tempting to fill them up as quickly as possible. Quote
