It's been some time since I've made any rods but I got around to making a few spinning rods for my old man and his fishing partner. Neither use baitcasters so I helped them out with the next best thing.

If you've seen any of my other builds you know I prefer my wraps to have color, but I made a black stealth build that I liked much more than I would have thought.

Those are very neat. I love the stealth rod! There is just something about the matte blank and dark wrap that screams " serious tool" It might be because of my fly fishing days but I just can't see myself buying or using any of these bright white, orange or red toy rods.

Nice work. I love the MHX blanks. I'd love to do a blindfolded test with some of the guys who swear that the super high end is so much more sensitive. I like the black wraps too, I use black and no color preserver on almost all of my builds.

Those are some nice builds you have there. MHX does make a great blank to build a rod off of. Can you tell a little bit more on how you did the decals? I agree that the decals from MHX can be bad and I like how you did these so I would like to see about doing these on mine that I am working on.

I'm also really likin those decals. Regular MHX decals are hit or miss in terms of print quality. I would really like to know how you're doin them also. :photography-044:

I used the graphics straight off of Mudhole's site and then just worked them in Photoshop along with the other text that I added. I print them on a certain brand of white decal paper, but I outline them in a black box. There's not much more than that, depending on how good you are at Photoshop.

I love what you did with this rod ..I just wish I had one of those handle, where did you get that from ?

if you dont mind..how much was the whole set up ?

I just saw your questions -

- the handle I made myself; it's just a matter of epoxying cork rings and then shaping the cork as you see fit

- price - I get wholesale pricing so it's not accurate, but regular pricing for all those components would be around $95 or so, I'm guessing.
