LooksLikeSinbad Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I found a plastic shallow-diving crankbait with "bassmaster" on the spine. Are they still in production? Who made them? Thanks Quote
LooksLikeSinbad Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 It's 2 inches long not including the bill and the eyes are missing: Anyone know who makes it? Quote

Super User Raul Posted August 29, 2009 Super User Posted August 29, 2009 The Bassmaster series of cranks, spinnerbaits & jigs is discontinued as such, it was renamed as XPS Profesional Series, same baits but different color scheme plus red hooks. Who made them is hard to tell but they looked like Japanese baits, the finishes were beatiful. Quote
LooksLikeSinbad Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Thanks guys. The finish on the one I found is pretty beat up, but the action is great. I guess I'll be ordering some from BPS. If your up for another round of I.D. that Bait, I also found this one at the same lake: *Note the dimple in the lip Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 29, 2009 Super User Posted August 29, 2009 Several manufacturers use that body to manufacture some of their cranks, the only difference between many I 've seen is the finish and hooks. It seems that somebody manufactures the body blank and the manufacturers only paint, add hooks and label the bait with different names. Strike Pro sells that bait under the name Classic Shad 55. LooksLikeSinbad Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Wow, thanks Raul! FYI, I switched out the split rings and trebles on those. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted August 29, 2009 Super User Posted August 29, 2009 Don't sweat the finish. A lot of people (me included) swear by beat up looking baits. Try it out as is, you may be suprised. Quote

Oh I already tried it and caught a few fish with it. I'll keep fishing this beat up one but I wanted to I.D. it so I can get more if I lose it. Thanks again! Quote
