Please post any jon boat ideas you have done to your boat.

-I'm about to mount rod holders to my boat.

-I am also thinking about putting seats on it. Wondering how high to mount them...

-I'd like to know how to mount cup holders.

Anyone have any other ideas, ie. mounting lights, carpet, etc?

Thanks in advance...hope we get lots of ideas!

I have done a couple boats myself. What size is your boat? That will help determine the height of the seats as far as stability.

Bassboy1 is AMAZING at what he does. He was very helpful in my build as well, as far as what to do and what to use! His builds are some of the BEST jon builds I have ever seen. Chris' boat is amazing.

I used the velcro rod hoders, across the the two bench seats it holds 6 rod and reels, and screws down snug. For the seats i used the jon boat seat clamps and attached a swivel so no drilling was involved. But i think you will find more ideas at tin boats as mentioned. Good luck on your project.

very nice boat....I wish I was skilled enough to start a project like that. How much did that project run ? just and estimation?

We used aluminum, therefore, our price of around $1000 is obsolete. If you can measure and cut, there's no reason you can't. Of course, I say that now after watching my Dad with most of the hard work, but it's true...you can do whatever you want. If you need to keep costs down, use wood.

This was really the first time I had ever worked with aluminum. If you can search scrap yards and get it at a decent price, the next step is to either rivet yourself or find someone who is willing to weld on aluminum.

Other than that, let your imagination fly.
