Super User grimlin Posted January 17, 2012 Super User Posted January 17, 2012 LOL. Dead wrong about what? The Packers only played the Giants once this reg season. Week 13. They got all they could handle and won in the final seconds, 38-35. No twenty point blowout. You're obviously confused. There were some dropped balls, but a few of them were due to bad/forced passes by an under pressure Rodgers (who was sacked 4 time and flushed from the pocket more times than I could count). All of those fumbles were punched out or stripped. The G-men were teeing off on the ball night. The Pack defense was last in the league in yardage. Their secondary has been weak all season. Nothing to prop up if their offense should it falter, which was bound to happen. And I couldn't care any less about fantasy stats. Eli is clutch. Face it, the Pack got dominated. It wouldn't have even been as close as it was if it wasn't for some AWFUL calls. My mistake....it was chicago bears we played twice. I was positive it was NY for some reason. People need to stop thinking packers got all the good calls....I don't understand why all those packer haters are saying refs were on their side. This was going on at every dang site I went to with those dang haters. Bad calls? People cannot accept packers were hot all season long. I will say this though...I hope packs go 9-7 or 10-6 next season without playoff advantage....They play better when it happens...like last year...or is everybody still believeing the refs helped them last year too. 49'ers are gonna wipe out Giants....Giants don't have a chance against the good defense. On 3rd down, Finley's play was inexcusable. As bad as GB played, they were still in the game until NY blew it open late in the 4th. Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Oh boy, here come the excuses! You guys were lucky to be in that game at all. Both of Packs touchdowns came directly after a fumble that was inexplicably given back to the Packers, and a bogus roughing the passer call that kept a late drive alive. Not a Packer hater, just a truth speaker. No defence = tragedy waiting to happen. Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 49'ers are gonna wipe out Giants....Giants don't have a chance against the good defense. Think so huh? Won't deny that San Fran's D is scary. I also know that they got 5 turnovers from the Saints (another soft defense) and only won by 4 points. Highly questionable. 1 Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 17, 2012 Author Super User Posted January 17, 2012 Looking forward to seeing the 49er game. Live. I'll try and take some pictures, but I'm pretty sure I'll be sauced by the time the game is over. Heck maybe even before the game starts. Quote

Not a Packer hater, just a truth speaker. No defence = tragedy waiting to happen. No excuses, just facts. GB had a historically good offense in the regaler season, and they proceeded to lay an egg in the playoffs. Rodgers missed too many easy passes, and the receivers dropped way too many balls. They didn't execute, plain and simple. Combine that with god-awful play in the secondary, and, well, they definitely didn't deserve to win this one. Not to take anything away from NY, as they did have four sacks, but again, the offense made too many mistakes. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 17, 2012 Super User Posted January 17, 2012 The Giants really have their game together right now but I still see the Patriots winning it all whether they have a defense or not. They've got some serious weapons on offense and it sure seems like they can just slap points on the board whenever they want to. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 23, 2012 Super User Posted January 23, 2012 We'll see about that Deakn... Maybe next year... Quote

I hope not......I know one thing, you need a defense, AND an offense to play them. No matter how good your defense is you still need to put up points, and NY should be able to do that. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted January 23, 2012 Super User Posted January 23, 2012 In what has been the year of the offense, defense was the name of the games yesterday. Both games yesterday were won by the defense. Both games could have gone either way. Manning's biggest contribution yesterday was not so much the two touchdown passes. It was that he did not turn the ball over in spite of the number of sacks, knock downs and hits he took without coughing up the ball. Quote

My hats off to him (Eli),as much B.S. as I talk about the Giants, they shocked me yesterday. I knew it wasn't going to be a high scoring game. They took some brutal hits from the 49'er defense. Giants have a chance at winning this now.Their defense stepped up and proved it yesterday. Like somebody mentioned, you need defense and offense.Giants play like they did against the 49'ers and Patriots won't have a chance. However I won't be watching the Superbowl this year....I dislike either team. Don't care who wins it.Footbal season is offical over for me. April can't come soon enough. I need to go fishing soon...LOL Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 23, 2012 Super User Posted January 23, 2012 When does pitchers and catchers camp start? LOL. Great game for the NFC Championship. I hate both teams, so it was just fun to watch them duke it out. Quote

Super User South FLA Posted January 23, 2012 Super User Posted January 23, 2012 Last year I watched the game at a local pub with the boys. This year, I hope to watch a couple of them play at Super Bowl. Live. Guess you guys will be doing the same, why the heck did you have to let some New Yorkers represent? Its amazing what the 49ers accomplished in a year with a competent head coach! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 23, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 23, 2012 I wouldn't give him TOO much credit. He was handed a great team on a platter. You can credit Singletary for that. True, Harbaugh did a good job coaching them, but the real test will be this off-season and how well he handles free agency, draft picks, etc....something he has zero experience with. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 23, 2012 Author Super User Posted January 23, 2012 Game could have gone either way. Regardless it was awesome to watch it live. Lets see how next year goes! Quote
SuskyDude Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Congrats to that Niners for a great season. It was such a stalemate that it came down to who would make the first mistake in OT, and the rest is history. With some changes on offense, the Niners will go deep in the playoffs again next year. Eli had a tremendous game. He stood tall in the pocket while being relentlessly pressured, making the crucial throws when needed most. 58 pass attempts and no turnovers, all whlie being knocked down 20 times and sacked 6 times. On the road..in crappy weather....against the best D in the league. Thats clutch. And they don't have a stat for that. Quote
