RyneB Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Me an the wife ventured to the Hammond Indiana Cabelas today. I wasnt planning on purchasing much. I was investigating a sale shelf and noticed Shadlicious 5.5" swimbaits on sale for $1.88 (normally $7.99). I asked a sales man if this was legitimate, or some mistake. He scanned and said it was $1.88 a pack, needless to say I purchased 17 packs. The only colors they had were green shad and that lavendar sexy shad. I kill them on the green shad, so i was a happy happy camper. So if you're in the Hammond Indiana area and love Shadalicious swimbaits, i suggest you stop in and grab them before theyre gone. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 14, 2012 Super User Posted January 14, 2012 Great buy! If you bought too many and want to double your money, I would buy as many as you want to sell for $4 each, delivered. The color is not important to me. -Kent Quote
RyneB Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 sorry road warrior theyre mine. I used a gift card so im not in it financially. Im thinking these 17 bags will last me 2 years. Quote

bassh8er Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 They've had that deal here in Omaha for a month now. Do you rig them a s a jig trailer or by themselves? Quote

RyneB Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 I rig mine by themselves on a weighted EWG 7/0 hook. Now that i have a nice supply, i might rig them up on a swim jig. I always wanted too but didnt want to waste a bait. Quote
bassh8er Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I don't rig them actually. I bought a few packs a while back and never used them, and after my Cabela's trip, I've got 6 more packs. I like the small Yum Money Minnow for a swim jig trailer, and have used the bigger size alone on a weighted swimbait hook. I've just heard a lot of good things about these baits and wanted to see what technique people like them so much for. Quote
RyneB Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 I like to use them like a swim jig. I throw it in weeds, wood and every other nasty thing i can find. I fish deep clear strip mines where structure often sits in 40+ fow. I cast past the structure, let the shadalicious sink to the bottom and then reel through the brush. It is a timely process and doesnt always work. But 6 of my ten top bass have come off this bait and technique. It just not a big fish bait either, i catch a lot of bass on this bait. Quote
Vinny Chase Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 We had the same deal here in MN...I tried the larger one thinking it might be a little too large, but ended up catching my biggest bass of the year on it! Quote
