Okay, The Rage Craw in it's veriations has, without a doubt, proven to be an incredible bait. Now, add that collar and give us a spider jig version and I will dance at your daughter's wedding. Can you imagine that bait in Falcon Craw. I will have to wear a bib just to keep the drool off my jersey. Great colors, great texture, more durable. I'll take 12 bags to start. Time to speak up and lobby Big O boys. Maybe we can get them on the shelves by mid-April.

You should take a Rage Craw, another spider jig, and make a "prototype" to get the ball rolling!!! I used to catch some big smallies on a spider jig when I lived in MN.

That is a 6 "m" Hmmmmmm and that makes me optimistic. I just ripped a bib off from my grand-daughter in preperation. Call it a Rage Crawlee Craw. Rig it on a 1/4-3/8 ounce football head with a 3/0 hook because they will be 4.5 inches ( hint ) long and crawl them babies. The smallmouth will will knock each other out of the way to get it. Is there such a thing as smallmouth domestic violence ? Okay, even if they cause a smallmouth DV we can set the statute of limitations at 15 seconds. I'M IN !!!!

Northstar Custom Baits makes a punch skirt that get you going towards making your own spider jig. I have used them on C-rigs. I think I will try that with his punch skirts. Just cut the skirt to size. And he is a sponsor site.

Ok well maybe not a spider jig, but this is what I have been thinking about ever since I started tying jigs a couple months ago. This thread put the thoughts into motion and this is what I came up with!

i agree wholeheartedly. I use almost exclusively rage tail plastics, except i have to venture over to Yum or Chompers for a hula grub/spider jig. give me a rage tail one and i'm in regardless, give me one based on the rage craw and.....

Ive been cutting a zoom tube in half, inserting the small end of the craw into the once closed side of the tube and using the tubes tentacles to give me somewhat of a spider skirt. Works fantastic as soft plastic seems to really have awesome action underwater to give the bait that life-like spider skirt. If ragetail had a product like this, im sure it would work better and save me time and money! Im all for it!!!

Judt check out the NorthStar web site! And take a look at his punch skirts! They would work great for a spider set up. And you can get them with or with out rattles!

Mike, I couldn't agree more with you! I would be down for at least 20 packs to start with. I sure hope Big O can make this happen for us smallmouth fishermen. They would fly off the shelves for sure!

I t-rig a lobster with a punch skirt. You have to peg the weight when doing this. You also have to trim the skirt a bit, and use the next heavier weight. The punch skirt really slows the fall. I haven't tried this with a rage craw or baby craw. I do use this with the lobster all the time, and sometimes with a space monkey and a rooster. I also almost always use a contrasting color skirt.

I really like the variations you guys have come up with. I have cut the collars off of torn Hula Grubs, tried the GYB mini collars and even found some original Canyon Lures spider jig collars I bought back in the 80's, but having a " parted " bait is just not the same as a one piece molded bait. I want to use a football head with an exposed hook so punch skirts just don't meet the need or want. I drag them in 8 to 20 feet with rocky bottoms. Out here in the NW the Hula Grub is a staple much like a Trick Worm is in, say, Alabama. I just think that configuration in the Rage line, with that action would be the real deal. The Rage color pallet is also second to none. I can only hope.

I hear ya. I like to fish his punch skirts on on Robo worms on a t-rig, I use them on brush hogs,Paca craws,Ribbon tail worms ( 7in, to 15 in. ) lizards, grubs,beavers,tubes! I also trim the skirt on these rigs. It is a killer look. I guide at night and what a differance it makes!

I also use the punch skirt on what they call a C rig/drop shot rig. It is a 3 way swivel with a short tag to the drop shot weight and then a long tag to your bait. try this with the punch skirt and fish it kinda fast but keep the weight on the bottom! This rig has caught some BIG fish for me the last two years and I fish alot of deep water!
