I notice that water tight storage boxes at BPS and Cabelas are like 15-35 bucks each, depending on size. Can anyone lend some advice on where I can go to find CHEAPER ones. Is that even possible? I'd like a bigger sized box but not for no $50

Here is a link to what I am referring to:

Water tight? What will you be storing? If it's a wallet, phone or camera a ziplok bag tucked in a "non" watertight case should work fine. Plano makes a box called the Deep Prolatch Stowaway and XL Prolatch Stowaway.

You might check out a waterproof bag instead. I have a waterproof bag that I bought at Wal Mart in the camping section for about $10. The one I have I got for floating streams for smallmouth to carry gear that needs to stay dry like lunches, towels, wallets, phones, ect. I got a large one bug they have some smaller ones if you're trying to keep it compact.

You're going to be putting stuff into these boxes that has to stay dry, right? Don't use watertight boxes to store used lures. They do a great job of keeping all residual moisture in. Unless you want to "pre-rust" your hooks and other terminal tackle, you don't want that. Take my word for it on this one.

Surplus army ammo can. if you have a army surplus story around check in their, you can get one for about 7 bucks that is just as big if not bigger than the cabelas one.

Wal mart has some in the camping section. I bought one that keeps 2 phones, wallet and has room for more, I think I paid $10 at the most.
