So What'll I Need To Throw?

I'm goin' out tomorrow and am stuck on what to be fishin'. We had a cold front come through a couple days ago :'(, and today we had typical post-frontal skies . You know, the high fluffy, scattered clouds against a bluebird sky. Pressure was also evident, as every cloud seemed to have a bottom flat as a pancake. Well about 12:30 p.m. cloud cover moved in and its now overcast. What should I be fishin'? Power ;D, finesse , somwhere in between :-? I really don't know. BTW, the front was a big 'un, as the air temp dropped around 10-12 degrees. Good for me :, not the fish :-/ So, what should I fish??????? Oh, I'll mostly be fishin' laydowns.

I am too distracted by all of the smiley's to respond. Jigs, Pegged creatures (brush hogs,GYCB kreatures,ugly otters), spinnerbaits. That's what I would use.

i am a big crank bait fisherman so that's where i would start

the drop in temp if fishing a big pond lake river shouldn't matter much

it would take a few days to really drop the water temp

i love fishing timber with my cranks bouncing off the wood

i use a bigger billed lure seems to deflect off the wood better

i have my best luck with bandits 100-300 size and rapala dts

if that doesn't work then i would switch to plastics

i have never pegged my weight i always texas rig my plastics

u can add a bead after weight to add a little more noise and protect knot

 Thanks 8-) I'll give crankin' a try  I will do it in shallower water, say 2-6/7 ft   Anything else :-? So far I have: Cranks, T-Rigged plastics, spinnerbaits, and jigs. Choices, choices Keep 'em comin'. I got 12 hours ;D LOL. Thanks for the help guys, really

Well we just had a cold front move in the other day, I fished a topwater and caught 13 bass on that. So idk you might wanna give it a try if the water is calm. It sure worked for me the other day. I agree about using plastics too, try throwing on a wacky rigged senko they always work. Good luck

I'd probably tie on a  ,  another med/hvy rod with a  .  You can never go wrong with a spinning rod and a  :-* tied on.  Always keep   and   within arms reach in case you run across schooling bass.

And if the bass fishing is slow, try a   for crappie or bluegill.

We just had some nasty storms come through our way. I usually fish a very small farmers pond probably 600ft long or so maybe 200ft across. This is actually kind of nice because small weather changes effect the fish a lot more rather than on a big pond or lake. One thing I have noticed is when inclement weather and storms come through the bass turn pretty lathargic. When I normally get nailed on the fall with senkos or on a good retrieve I dont after a storm. Slowing down my presentation with a senko (darker color) often works. Also I burn some spinnerbaits and sometimes get a good slam. Topwater with a torpedo at night with not too much luck.

Also it seems rather than the bass hanging out around shoreland structures ie. downed trees, there more in the middle in the deep.

Maybe someone can chime in and explain what is going on with all of this and if my theories are correct or typical.

What if he only has one rod? Should he tie on a   or a  :-*. I think it mainly depends on the  : of the lake, and whether the baitfish are  > or  . I might start with a  8-) and move deeper in the   if that didn't work. If worst came to worst I'd use a   rigged  . Then again, what do I know?
