Lizards work wonders during spawn, especially if you are sight fishing on beds. Bass hate the sight of a lizard on its bed. If its a small pond you are fishing then you can afford to fish slow (i.e texas rig). Quote
FL_Sharpshooter Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Cool sounds greats what's the best way to catch them during there spawn lizards? I always use white jigs with a white craw(white so that I can see them in the water). I do pretty well on those, you just have to make sure you use a craw trailer that isn't easily torn, as generally the bass will pick the bait up by the claws and spit it out of the nest. I also always have good luck with a Strike King Rodent...it's a pretty sturdy bait that's hard to tear. Quote
BasskingKeith Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Anything will work on their beds. It's the funnest thing watching them react to a bait, any bait. Especially the big females....gets your adrenalin going every time! Quote
