Super User Fishing Rhino Posted January 11, 2012 Super User Posted January 11, 2012 Google "Mercury 150 four stroke reviews". You'll find plenty of reading material. Quote
ranger 1 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Yes there is lots of stuff on the internet about the 150 merc four stroke . In my post i was looking for guys who have ran or own one and for there input . I want true feed back from the people who will bet the most honest and that be the user of the product . The promo stuff is all one sided to sell Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 11, 2012 Super User Posted January 11, 2012 Brand new motor. Might take some time for anything useful to come in. All I've heard is that it's light. Quote

The promo stuff is all one sided to sell Reviews by third parties are not promos. Well, they should not be. The first result I linked on ran the motor, and gave, what seemed to me, to be fairly objective pros and cons. It's not all that different from Motor Trend or any other car magazine test driving particular makes and models, then posting their take on it. What makes their review less than true? Reviews by owners can vary widely from five out of five to zero or one out of five on the same product. Some owners have much expertise in using a product, others have no expertise whatsoever. As Francho said, it hasn't been on the market long enough to expect much of a response from owners since there are relatively few of them. Quote

What type of boat would you be putting this on, how much weight for fishermen and their gear to start with. You should be able to get the torque from Merc's website. The hole shot is going to vary widely by boat, prop, and the variables. I don't think a review from somebody with a boat only 2/3's your weight is going to help. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted January 11, 2012 Super User Posted January 11, 2012 http://bit.ly/zwZDzW :eyebrows: Thank you. I tried sending the info via private message, but the links would not work when I previewed the message. Interesting, the links would have worked on the forum. I copied and pasted a couple of the results, then previewed them, and they were clickable. I'm not clear on posting links to other web sites, so I was reluctant to post them. Quote
