Super User deaknh03 Posted January 10, 2012 Super User Posted January 10, 2012 Without coaching continuity, the Raiders are in trouble. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 10, 2012 Super User Posted January 10, 2012 I'm just hoping Reggie doesn't bring a coach from GB: Clements; Philbin; Moss; etc. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted January 11, 2012 Super User Posted January 11, 2012 Son of a frickin.........!!!! WHAT THE HELL GIVES?!?!?! How is it that hard for us to keep a frickin head coach!!!!! I swear if we don't go to the dang playoffs next year with WHOEVER our new GM picks as coach, I will start a RIOT!!! Even if that means I have to fly out there to do it!!!! Quote
bassh8er Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Who cares? The Raiders are a joke and that obviously hasn't changed even with the departure of Al Davis. Talk about a collapse... They had the division wrapped up if they could have just stayed afloat. If I would've known that the Raiders were going to quit trying in the 2nd half of the season, I would've called John Fox 5 weeks ago and told him to start resting his starters after the bears game in week 14. New records for penalties and penalty yards in one season, picking up a washed up Carson Palmer and blowing the division... Why should this guy have kept his job? Quote

Now don't forget to mention the starters that were out during the second half of the season. Yeah all teams lose players over the course of the year. But you lose your starting qb, 2 recievers, the best kicker in the league, and your starting running back. all within the same month? And with the exception of Darrius and Janikowski the others aren't there the rest of the season. Id say they didn't do half bad. #1 in penalties, the raiders have been one of the most penalized teams in the NFL since the merger. Yeah we lost offensive starters and our defense was appalling all year. It still takes more than a year to build a team as a head coach. We ain't worried about it though, cause as the true believers in The Nation say. You beat us on the field, we'll beat you in the parking lot! Raider Nation Forever! Quote
endless Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 McKenzie says Raiders 'just want a winner' in next head coach http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d825e2b84/article/mckenzie-says-raiders-just-want-a-winner-in-next-head-coach?module=HP11_headline_stack ---------------------------- Here's what McKenzie had to say about his reason behind firing Hue Jackson and what his plan is! Quote
jeremyt Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I am a Chargers fan, so part of me is smiling. Jackson shouldn't have gotten the can. Are the Raiders going to start going through coaches like they did QB's. If they do they might as well get used to being on the bottom again! Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted January 11, 2012 Super User Posted January 11, 2012 I'll concede with the rest of The Nation on this for now. McKenzie was a Raider and once a Raider always a Raider. If he thinks someone new can get the job done better, then fine. Like I have any say so in the matter anyway. However if he screws up and Al rises from the grave (which knowing Al Davis could very well happen) and attacks him, it ain't our fault. Best of luck McKenzie, Al is watching. RAIDER NATION FOR LIFE! GLADES Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I thought the press inverview of the Raiders GM was very incoherent. The guy just seemed to fire the coach without a plan. His "gut" will decide the next coach. I thought the Raiders played much better this season, despite the collapse. The Raiders are in trouble... Quote

We'll be fine. If Wolf and Madden both believe in him then I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. I think we played better this year as well, if it just hadn't been for all the injuries, I think we would have done much better the second half of the year. Quote
endless Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 I vote Jon Gruden back! Jon Gruden swears he not getting back into coaching and staying with ESPNhttp://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82591c5c/article/gruden-insists-hes-staying-with-espn-as-mnf-analyst But chances are who knows Jay Gruden the brother who is Bengals offensive Cordinator is being eye ball by teams so who knows he might get at least interviewed? CAdeltaLipRipper Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 once again the raiders shoot themselves in the foot Quote

Simp Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Agree this was a mistake unless he has a coach like Cower or even fisher lined up. Although it looks like fisher is going to STL or Miami. I felt like the Raiders really made some big strides this year. This is just a classic case of not wanting to have somebody else's employees under you. Quote
