Not sure exactly where this topic would fit best so I figured I would put it here. Latly, I have been adding to my soft plastics collection quite a bit and they will no longer fit in my standard 3 tray tackle box. I was looking for some advice on how to lug them all around with me. I have been looking into getting a tackle bag in order to make carrying easier. Any suggestions or advice on how to store/carry them with me? Thanks.

You will get a lot of different responses on this topic.  Since I buy and make in bulk I can only take a few of each with me.  I don't like to dig around through plastic bags so I use the plastic boxes and seperate them by types like beavers, jig trailers, craws, brush hogs, etc.

I have a few of these:

one of senkos, one for trailers, one of creature baits and one for everything else.  I just take a peice of masking tape, write on it in sharpy the brand color and product ID # and put em in.  I find each binder can hold 20 sheets, comes with 10 but you can buy extra sheets.  Its best with 10-15 though or else it starts to roll on you.  I like to keep them flat as possible.

There are a few soft plastics I dont do put in, like rage products with the shell.  I mostly use these for bulk products.

I use the larger size Plano boxes, three inches deep.

I label them on the ends, using a Sharpie, then put a piece of clear packaging tape over the markings.  If I ever wanted to change the labels, remove the tape and wipe with acetone or fingernail polish remover.

The key words maybe "Too Many".  Do you really need to carry such a large selection?  I use to carry very large worm bag which was stuffed.  But found I only used same half dozen colors each trip.  Now 20-25 lbs. is not in the boat.

I keep them in a plastic box, in their packaging.

Think about it.

Get yourself a duffle bag, some Zip-Loc bags, and a Sharpie.

First off put a certain type of soft plastic in a Zip-Loc bag and label it accordingly with the Sharpie.

Here's an example: put all your Senkos in a Zip-Loc bag and label it "Senkos".

I use five of the double-sided binder bags like these.

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37109_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10

10 bags on each side, organized by types.

One bag has straight worms in one side and curl-tail worms in the other.

One bag has Senkos in one side and Ikas in the other.

One bag has flukes on side and tubes in the other.

One bag has critter baits in both sides; craws, hula grubs, rage craws, rage lobster, space monkeys, lizards, GYCB Kreatures, etc.

The last bag I keep for day trips, and has a small selection of everything in one bag.

The small zipper pockets in each side of each bag hold the correct terminal tackle for each category.

very handy.

I have a addiction when it comes to soft plastics. From what I see in this forum I'm not alone. LOL  I like to keep mine in the 3 inch deep plano box with the o-ring seal. I have a box for smallmouths and one for largmouths. I have to agree with the other reply that I only use about 1/16 of what I carry. I'm beginning to think that having smaller bags with one type of plastic in different bags might be the way to go. I seem to waist alot of time searching for the right bait.
