IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I got this one yesterday on a wildlife management area by my house. The biologist aged him at 5 1/2. He is a 7 point but the beams are 23 and 24 inches. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 8, 2012 Global Moderator Posted January 8, 2012 Very nice buck! You're lucky, after the 31st of December we can't shoot bucks anymore. Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 We are starting a primitive weapon hunt this week. The deer in my area are rutting the first two weeks of January. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 8, 2012 Super User Posted January 8, 2012 That looks like an Alabama Deer and a dandy at that. Congrats man. That's awesome for a WMA. Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Thank you very much. He is a fine Louisiana bottomland Buck. Quote
weezy109 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Nice un, although not to blessed a day for that particular Buck! I saw one on the golf course I play at and counted 12 points from about 300 yards away, lord knows how many smaller ones it had that I couldn't see. It was a small bodied deer though, probably not much bigger than that one but humongous rack. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Nice deer...which part of Louisiana are you around. I live in PIneville. Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 I live in Carencro. I got him in Thistlewaite WMA. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Cool man...I've never hunted around there, but it looks like there are some good uns' in that area! Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 Yeah they got some good ones but the palmettos are so bad you have to get a deer within bow range to shoot it with a gun! Quote
