YoungProdigy19 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Does anyone have any information on how to get into thebassmaster weekend series? I am still too young to fish it, but for future interests. P.S. who do you thinks going to win the classic this year?? I love KVD, being from the same state. But if I were to take a real guess I would say Kevin Short, just based off of his previous successes on rivers. Comment what you think. Quote
JIGFISHERMAN. Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Aren't they on the Red River again..... Just based on how they fished there last-Skeet, IKE, and it's close to home for Duckett. KVD, just because he has been unstoppable the last few years. That would be my top 4 in any given order. Quote
YoungProdigy19 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Yeah they are on the Red River. If KVD is right on what he thinks will be the ticket, he will win. I mean look what happend last year? He said it was the "perfect storm", and it had to of been, being that records were broken. But I think Kevin Short will win, because he grew up fishing rivers, and his 2 of his 3 B.A.S.S. wins were on Rivers. And he is somewhat hot coming off an open win this year at Table Rock. I think he will win it this year, or atleast be in the race to win it. I do like your choices though. Ish had a great year! Skeet is always solid, and KVD is.... KVD lol. Quote
Bass Dude Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 To get into the Weekend Series...Go to American Bass Anglers (ABA) website and click on the Weekend Series link. You'll have to join ABA which I think is $25 and then all you do is sign up, send in your entry fee and fish!! As far as my pick for The Classic....Mr. Greg Hackney. Quote
Nick Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 If things break the way he thinks they will, Pick M. Tucker for the dark horse. Best angler out there most of you never heard of. The rains though, can really mess up this event. Quote
Michbassin Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 It's a bummer they don't have any in Michigan, or at least I couldn't find any. They look interesting. I like Reese, Ike, or KVD, no surprises here. But don't be surprised if Brandon Palaniuk is in contention. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I like VanDam, Grigsby, Swindle, Evers and Brauer and no they don't have the series in michigan Quote

Pretty similiar to the Weekend Series, but put on by FLW. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/bfl/tournament/2012/6791/st-clair-details/ Quote

But don't be surprised if Brandon Palaniuk is in contention. palanuik and iaconnelli have won major tourneys on the red river. if kvd wins again on a body of water that is certainly not his wheelhouse then any doubt there still is as to him being the greatest angler of all time is gone.. all doubt is already gone for most though Quote
