Try 6/0 Gam. octopus or Owner SSW hooks. Use a snell knot.

The problem with that hook is that the hook doesn't kick up when it is snelled.

Problem? You obviously haven't tried it, LOL. Try it before pretending you know what you're talking about. Seriously.
