I'm new at baitcasting and I'm not sure what line to use. I have the shimano corudo 50e and a shimano Clarus bass casting rod 6'8" fast action M power. I'm not sure what line to use. I fish cranks, spinners, plastics, top water, jigs and swim baits. I no everything. What line should I use??

I fish in New York so the water color is A little of everything depending where you fish clear to stained to murky. Thanks guy and gals.

Probably get a big spool of 12-15 lb mono-Trilene Big Game-. Plus, since you're new at baitcasting, you're probably going to get a couple knarly backlashes, and have to re-spool it. So that's where that bigger spool comes in, as you'll have plenty of line to learn with. Plus it's a good line.

Go for braid.. a 20# 832 would give you plenty of line. Use 6' of 12# FC or Mono leader for topwater. The rest of the approach you can do with or without leader depending on what you prefer.

d**n I bought seagur red lable 12 lb fluorocarbon. I love braid but I always feel like the fish see the line and there not biting. I had braid on my spinning reel and switched to fluorocarbon.

you should be fine with the red label. im not a big seaguar fan but ive used it and its not bad at all. id personally recomend vicious pro elite fluoro in either 10 or 12 lb test. i think 12lb test is a good over all line weight for a lot of different techniques.

What line is the easiest to cast on a baitcaster?

matter of preference.. birds nest on mono/fc gets deep compared to braid, it stops right away so birds nest is in the top portion of the spool. easier to pick.

but if you already bought the line might as well use it. Most newby on baitcaster usually mess up their line in a couple of months and needs to be re-spooled. Need re-spooling since you cut so much line that it's already halfway the spool.

enjoy!

Remember to not overfill the spool with line. Many headaches await you if you do.
